Show The Liugard Ensement. j The Lingard comedy company closed their ten nights' engagement in this city last evening, during which they have produced a great variety of the very finest dramatic pieeej, which have been excellently played, the Lingards being ably supported by the home dramatic company. Mia Dickie Lingard.in the great variety ot characters waich she has assumed in rapid succession, has given evidence of dramatic ability of a very high order. Miss Hatlie Roche is a pleasing actress who performs conscientiously every character which she undertakes. under-takes. Mr. Howard Paul, in his aonga and impersonations,, is ever pleasing and gentlemanly, and Mr. Moran, the accompanist and musical director of the entertainment, per-j per-j forms his part quietly aud modestly, but more efficiently than many professionals, pro-fessionals, making more show and! pretention. William Horace Liugard, Liu-gard, in his comedy impersonation, is always effective and highly amusing, amus-ing, but it is in his specialty the "Lingard Sketches" that he shines par excellence; in these he is a full dramatic and musical entertainment in himself. The company go to Ogden to-night, thence to Virginia city, Nev., where they open on Monday Mon-day evening next. |
