Show Sadden Death. People in this vicinity were painfully pain-fully shocked yesterday morning upon up-on hearing of the sudden death of Mrs. E. R. Jacobs, wife of Mr. Elias Jacobs, auctioneer. Mrs. J., with a portion of her family, was visiting, .Sunday evening, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. T. Boukofaky, Seventh ward. A couple of hours had passed very pleasantly, the deceased apparently ap-parently enjoying herself unusually well. About 10 o'clock the visitors made preparations to return home, and Mrs. J. got into the buggy to ride up with Mr. Boukofsky, but the horse, showing signs of balking, she go down, and saying Bhe felt Bick, returned re-turned to the house, while her husband hus-band went for a physician. But almost al-most immediately the lady expired in the arms of her tno daughters. The physician, who arrived soon after, pronounced the cause of death heart disease. The funeral was held yesterday At the residence of Mr. Boukofsky, and the remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of people, including a procession of Odd Fellows, Fel-lows, of which society both the deceased de-ceased and her husband were members. mem-bers. She was interred in accordance with the Hebrew ceremonies. Mrs. Jacobs was one ol the most agreeable, social and pleasant ladies in the community, and was highly respected and greatly esteemed by a large circle of acquaintances. She leaves a large family of chiidren, all of whom are grown to manhood or womanhood. The bereaved husband and orphaned children have our sincere sin-cere sympathy in their deep affliction.' |
