Show The Banquet. The celebration last evening of the 56th anniversary of Odd Fellowship was truly a grand success. At eight o'clock the members of the order met at Odd Fellows' hall, where the ceremonies, cere-monies, which occupied one hour, j were conducted by the officers of the R. W. G. L.; after which an adjourn-1 ment was taken to the banquet rooms , at the Salt Lake House, where for sev- i eral hours the company of ladies and j gentlemen, numbering 125, spent the j time in the most pleasing manner possible. The proprietors of the hotel had exerted themselves to do the grand thing for the fraternity, and the result was one of the most sump-i tuous banquets ever spread in the city. The tables fairly groaned under their load of good things, served up in the finest style of the art cuisine. Immediately after tho banquet came addresses by prominent members of, the order, songs by talented vocalists, j instrumental music, happy responses to appropriate toasts, tha entertain-1 ment concluding with "Auld Lang Syne," by the company. : The whole affair reflected credit upon the hearts and tastes of the committees, uponthose who look part in it, and upon the genial president Jof the evening, Past-Grand Henry i bimons. The occasion was one which will ever be recalled with recol lections of pleasure by those who were fortunate enough to be present. |
