Show Bj W. U. Telegraph. VENERABLE CLERGYMAN DEAD. Syracuse, N.Y.,2. The Rev. Saml. J. May died at his home in this city, at half past Een last evening. He had been ill, but was not regarded in danger. dan-ger. He was able yes'erday to receive several calls, among them President White, ot Coroel University. He was in bis 74tb year, and graduated at Harvard Har-vard in the class with Caleb Gushing and George Bancroft. In 1S45 he accepted ac-cepted a call to the Unitarian church of Syracuse, which pastorate he resigned resign-ed when 70 years old. The fuueral takes place on Thurday afternoon. |
