Show Beck's Silver Speech. Philadelphia, April G.-Tribune special. The Times1 Washington special says: While the silver discussion has been rapidly petering out in the House, a good deal of interest in-terest seems to be felt in the question abroad, judging from the reports from the head-quartet head-quartet of the National Bi-Metalbc Comage Association here. The Seoretary of the As- ii sooiation says: "The number of speeches and pamphlets I sent out from here since last December is simply enormous. There is a great demand for silver literature. Most of it goes to the Eastern and Middle States. You would be surprised at the interest in-terest still felt in Beci's speech. I sent out 80,000 copies of it and the demand continues. His was the first important silver speech of the session, and he is not from a silver State. There is not the slightest chance of any legislation inimical to silver going through at this or any other session. I have no doubt the Bland free coinage bill will pass the House, and there is a good chance of its getting through the Senate." |
