Show Ke-JElectlon of Officers. New Yobk, April 5. At the annual meeting meet-ing of the Panama Railway Company, held to-day, the old Board of Direotors were reelected, re-elected, with the exception of J. H. Wright, who was elected to fill the vacancy caused j by the retirement of E. P. Fabert. The reports show that the gross earnings of the road were $3,267,992, a decrease from MM of $226,853, and gross expenses of $5,l9o,-313? $5,l9o,-313? an increase of $877,360. The decrease in earnings was caused by the political troubles trou-bles in-March and April, 1885, and the increase in-crease in expenditures by the destruction by fire of the company's wharros and freight sheds at Colon in March, 18&. The number of passengers carried in 188a was 567,694, an increase of 52,74 over ism. |
