If the Senate prevails, it will mean the dairy industry will not receive a price adjustment for at least one year and probably more. This is the most irresponsible action by the Senate in many years, Holman continued. There simply is no justification to cutting the dairy program this deep, while at the same time allowing the tobacco subsidy to continue untouched. The Administration, the Senate, and even some misinformed consumer advocates consider this a victory, however, it has hastened a period of scarcity of supplies and further concentration of production. Ultimately, this will mean higher prices on the grocery shelf. W e can only hope the House will use better judgement in passing a farm bill. One which will enable producers to survive. If the Senate version of a farm bill is the only alternative, agriculture may be better off with no farm bill, Holman said. The House must not buckle to Administration pressure, and pass a more adequate farm bill. A veto would be a dear sign to all farmers and measuring whether the message informs, persuades, or reminds consumers about the product or service. ranchers, indicating Garth Daniels, coor- where they stand with dinator of counseling the Administration," services in the Small Holman added.
