Her children, Norma Nielson, Jerold Shields, and Leroy Shields, will host an Open House in her honor, on Saturday, October 23, 1993, at the Carriage Court in Salina. All family and friends are invited to attend between 3 and 6 p.m. No gifts, please. Hilda was bom October 19, 1903 in Salina, Utah to Hyrum S. and Harriet Gates. She married Ellaroy Shields, September 9, 1925. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She has lived in Salina all of her life, and is a homemaker.
