Show SOCIETY Dorothy Beeler, Reporter FRIDAY BRIDGE Beautiful roses formed the decorations when Mrs. J. V. Mc-Lea Mc-Lea entertained members of Friday Bridge Club on Sept. 12. A delicious salad course lunch-" lunch-" eon was served with covers laid for 12, including Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mrs. Fred Ferron, Mrs. R. S. Jordan, Mrs. Bob Huish, Mrs. Eugene Harmston, Mrs. Louis Corbridge, Mrs. Wayne Malin, Mrs. Lcs-Mullins, Mrs. Jay Ginn, Mrs. Glen Wyler, Mrs. Howard Harrison and Mrs. Carroll Robbins. Following luncheon three tables of bridge were at play, with Mrs. Malin, Mrs. Ginn, Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. Weiss winning win-ning prizes. BRIDGETTE Bridge and a dessert luncheon formed the diversion last Thursday Thurs-day evening when Mrs. J. J. Cook entertained members of Bridgctte Club at the Homer P. Edwards residence. The house was beautifully 'decorated with charming bouquets of asters, marigolds and dahlias. Her guest list numbered 12, including Mrs, Orson Stevens, Mrs. Marvell Nielson, Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, ' Mrs. Ned Bellon, Mrs. Steve Bel-Ion, Bel-Ion, Mrs. Bill Nelson, Mrs. Clem Labrum, Mrs. Elmer. Eldredge, Mrs. Alden Alexander, Mrs. Parley Rawlings and Mrs. Jack Mohlman. Following luncheon three tables were arranged for bridge with prizes going to Mrs. Raw-lings, Raw-lings, Mrs. Mohlman and Mrs. Schmiett. LONG-MORRILL ENGAGEMENT Announcement is made this week of the engagement of Miss VaLois Long,' daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Long, of Al-terra, Al-terra, and Blayne Morrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Davis Morrill, of Tridell. A date for the wedding wed-ding has not yet been set. Miss Long is a graduate of the Alterra high school, where she was valedictorian of the 1947 class. She also served as vice president of the Utah State Future Fu-ture Home Makers Association. She is now employed at the J. C. Penney store in Roosevelt. Mr. Morrill, a Navy veteran, is also a graduate of the Alterra high school. Since his release from the Navy he has resumed his studies at the Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural college, which institution insti-tution he attended for one year prior to his enlistment. MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED Joining September nuptial ranks were Gertrude Page, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Page, and Joseph (Junior) Moysh, son of Mrs. Pearl Moysh. The young couple were united in marriage by Bishop John A. Harter in a lovely afternoon ceremony cere-mony performed at Salt Lake City on Tuesday, September 2. For the occasion the bride chose a simple white wool crepe suit accented with black accessories. acces-sories. She was attended by Mrs. Pearl Moysh, as matron of honor, hon-or, and Mrs. Morris Page, as bridesmaid. Morris Page, broth-er broth-er of the bride, acted as best !man. Mrs. Bessie Turner, aunt of the bridegroom, entertained at a wedding supper in their honor Tuesday evening. After honeymooning in Salt Lake City and Ogden the well known couple have now returned return-ed to make their home in Roosevelt. Roose-velt. CONTRACT CLUB Lovely in all details was the delicious chicken dinner given by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mari-mon Mari-mon last Saturday evening when they entertained members of the Contract Club at the Roosevelt Hotel. Beautiful arrangements ar-rangements of marigolds and white asters highlighted the tables where places were marked for Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chambcrlin, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ferron and Mr. and Mrs. Les Mullins. Following dinner three tables were arranged for bridge, with Mr. and Mrs. Weiss winning the prize. RIGBY-DENNIS NUPTIALS MYTON Announcement is made this week of the marriage of Miss Joyce Rigby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Rigby, of Salt Lake City, to Daniel S. Dennis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wal-lace Dennis, of Myton. The marriage was solemnized Wednesday, September 10, in the Salt Lake Temple. A reception recep-tion followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. -Henry Jenkins, at Newton, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dennis and Mrs. Max Jenson, of Myton, attended the wedding and reception. The young couple will make their home at Ft. Collins, Colo., where Mr. Dennis will attend the Colorado Agricultural college. col-lege. . - - ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED MYTON Mr. and Mrs. Guy j Taylor, of Myton, announce the engagement " and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lil-lie Lil-lie Mae, to Joseph R. A group of close friends were present to enjoy en-joy an afternoon of games and a delicious luncheon. The bride-to-be was the recipient of many lovely gifts. SURPRISE PARTY Monday evening Arthur Smith was pleasantly surprised when members of the family gathered at his residence in Gusher to help him celebrate his birthday anniversary. an-niversary. I A delicious buffet supper was served with the focal point of the decorations being a beautifully beauti-fully decorated cake bearing the inscription "Greetings from the Family." Following supper guessing gues-sing games and contests formed the evening's diversion. SOCIAL CULTURE The officers of Social Culture club met at the home of Mrs. Elmer Eldredge Wednesday afternoon af-ternoon to outline lesson yearbooks year-books for the coming year. The first regular club meeting meet-ing will be held Monday, Oct. 13. |
