Show J C PETERSON DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS HI FUNERAL SERVICES FOR ONE OF reservation PIONEERS AND FOUNDER OF THE TOWN OF funeral services were held in the roosevelt assembly hall last friday ap april r 11 17 for or james C peterson who died tuesday april 14 ol of influenza bishop J austin pack of roosevelt second ward had charge ot of the services bishop mitchell of 0 hayden was the first speaker he told ot of his intimate acquaintance with the deceased who had been first counselor in the hayden ward bishopric ot of his fidelity to duty his companionable nature and absolute dependability bishop mitchell also spoke words of comfort and encouragement to the bereaved family P kelly of provo representative of the singer sewing machine company tor for which mr air peterson was agent was the next speaker he spoke highly ot of the char character arter of the deceased of his bis integrity in his business dealings and the respect in which he was held by all who had any dealing with him he feelingly ot of the esteem and sympathy that had been shown to the bereaved and urged that they be not forgotten after their loved one was laid away ephriam lambert of 0 roosevelt stake presidency spoke at great length on doctrinal principals and also read very extensively from church works bishop L E allred of 0 N nola naola ola offered the invocation and the benediction was pronounced by alfred lublin of roosevelt second ward durl duria ag appropriate vocal numbers were rendered by a quartet composed of W al vernon arden bell eva richardson and lavon smith miss clara alexander sang face to face the pall bearers were john H george and elroy davis S J nellson neilson david andrews and lonzo peterson interment was in the roosevelt cemetery james C peterson was born at spring city utah june S when he was one month old the family moved to price where they lived until the open opening ing of the reservation er in 1906 when they amne and located near the present townsite of hayden james C peterson took up a homestead on which the town of hayden Is located he was always active in the up building of the community and was a staunch upholder of the law he was married to mary alary lavern davis on september 7 1907 at vernal and a month later went through the salt lake temple ile he conducted a mercantile business at hayden tor for three years and also engaged in dairying he moved to roosevelt in 1923 where he worked as a salesman mr peterson is survived by his wife and the following children evelyn age 16 edna edn 14 mary 12 clayton 10 dean 8 and leo 14 also his parents mr and mrs chris peterson of myton and two brothers austin of myton an and omar of price |
