Show Funeral Held For Quenten Allred Funeral services for Quenten Allred, Sr., were held in the Neola chapel last Wednesday afternoon, with singing being furnished by Lazell Henrie, Neill Jensen, Lecta Horrocks, Kate Duncan and Phyllis Phyl-lis Wardle, with Lillian Wilkerson as accompanist. Ira A. Pace, who along with Mr. Allred, was one of the early settlers of this area, was the speaker. The invocation was given by Bishop Richard 01-sen 01-sen and the benediction by Lester Gardner. Interment was in the Hayden cemetery, where D. F. Mitchell dedicated the grave. ENTERTAINED NEPHEW Mr. and Mrs. Lazell Henrie entertained en-tertained at a dinner last Thursday Thurs-day evening, honoring their nephew, neph-ew, Gerald Henrie, who is leaving soon on a mission. Present were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Henrie, Ruel, Charlotte and Sher-ene Sher-ene Henrie. Royal Horrocks has been confined con-fined to the Roosevelt Hospital for the past week. He is improving at this writing. Mrs. Lerval Olsen returned home last Sunday from Salt Lake City, where she has spent the past week. CHURCH PAINTED The Relief Society room extended extend-ed a bright greeting to members of the Junior Sunday School last Sunday morning. Walls, woodwork and ceiling had been painted a coral-rose, results of the combined com-bined efforts of the Relief Society executives and the Sunday School superintendence. The work was accomplished last Friday, with more along the same line planned for the near future. Mrs. Raymond Elmer, of Ogden, is visiting here with her mother, Elizabeth Prescott. TREKKERS HONOR PARENTS Members of the Primary Trek-ker Trek-ker class entertained their parents last Sunday afternoon, under the leadership of their teacher, Dahlia Dutson. Those participating included in-cluded Jay Mitchell, Jerry Boren, Liddell Dye, Ned Anderton, Errol Nelson. The boys explained the meanings of the various symbols on their bandlos, and ' recited the first eight articles of Faith. A demonstration on teaching truthfulness truth-fulness was given by Mrs., Elray Duncan. Light refreshments were served by the boys to their parents par-ents and the Primary presidency. $93.00 IN PENNIES The sum of $93.00 was collected for the Primary Children's Hospital Hos-pital by ward workers of that organization during the recent Penny Appeal. Harold and Edwin Duncan, of Salt Lake City, spent Sunday here at the home of their brother, Elray. El-ray. Mrs. Ferris Henrie accompanied her son, Gerald, to Salt Lake City last Tuesday, where he entered en-tered the Mission Home.i Mrs. Henrie continued on to Clearfield, where she will visit with her mother for a couple of weeks. NEOLA MAN PLANS JUNE MARRIAGE Of interest to his many friends here is the forth-coming marriage of Rulon Smithson of Provo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Smithson. His fiance, Miss Lonnie Rhae Cooke of Salt Lake City is a graduate nurse. A June wedding is planned by the couple. |
