Mrs. Heilbut, who is a native of Pleasant Grove, Utah, has been drumming since she was in the second grade and it seems she didnt have too much to say about becoming a drummer. Peafl's father, Earl Beck, who was a music teacher at an elementary school In Pleasant Grove was trying to get an orchestra together and put a drum in front of Pearl (me day and told her to start playing it. She did what she was told and has been beating time on the drums ever since. Pearl, incidentally, has her own drum company, the Heilbut Drum Company. Mrs. Heilbut gave up ner drumming for a few years after her marriage but missed it so much that one day she went on a buying spree and came home with a complete new drum outfit and a piano. The trio of performers there is a certain amount of occupational hazards encountered by members of a feminine group.
