Pearl Penrod Olson of Provo was elected president of the Utah county Daughters of Utah Pioneers7 at the morning session of the county biennial convention, held Saturday at the First ward hall. Mrs. Olson succeeds Mrs. Edith M. Powell of Provo, who presided pre-sided at the convention, attended by 190 women from the 43 camps in the county. State central company officers attending the conclave were .Mrs. Mina S. Wignall of Salt Lake City, first vice president; Mrs. Kate C. Snow of Salt Lake, past president; Mrs. Hattie T. Snow, Mrs. Eliza Fillmore and Mrs. Osa Ferguson of Provo. Other women elected to serve during the ensuing two years were: Mrs.- Lucile H. Walker, Pleasant Grove, first vice president; presi-dent; Mrs. Chasta C. Johnson; Santaquin, second vice president; Mrs. Flossie P. Sanford. Spring ville. recording secretary;, Mrs. mily B. Lake, parliamentarian; Mrs. Ruth R. Olsen, Spanish Fork, chaplain. Mrs. Lucy I. Clyde was chairman of the nominating committee. Mrs. Powell gave the president's presi-dent's report during1 the morning session, music for which was under un-der the direction of Mrs. Mary H. Weight and Mrs. Cora B. Bird, Springville. The highlight of the program was a tribute to mothers of boys in the service, given by Mrs. Emma Em-ma G. Jones of Provo. Spanish Fork and, Springville camps furnished special music, and reports were given. Seven bound volumes of pioneer histories were presented to the county organization by the county coun-ty historians, Mrs. Edna S. Smart and Mrs. Emma H. Huff. Box lunches were enjoyed during dur-ing the noon hour, and entertainment entertain-ment was provided by the county cheer leaders, Mrs. Nellie Olsen and Mrs. Emma Jones. A comic reading by Mrs. Mary S. Abel of American Fork was included. At the afternoon meeting, remarks re-marks were made by the state central company officers; also Yoiilg To Speak At Spanish Fork SPANISH FORK Clifford E. Yourtg, assistant to the Twelve will . be the speaker representing the general church authorities at a quarterly conference of the Palmyra L. D. S. stake to be held at Spanish Fork Sunday. Welfare meetings will be first on the program Sunday morning and will be held in the old seminary semin-ary building- for all stake and ward welfare1 workers. General sessions of the conference will commence at 10 a. m. and 2 p. m. in the high school auditorium. The evening meeting will commence at 8 p. m. in the Second L. D. . S. ward chapel. Deaths Utah Stake To Hold Fast Services Today Wards of Utah L. D. S. stake will observe fast Sunday today, with testimony meetings to be conducted at the regular time, according to R. J. Murdoek, stake president. Fast day services were moved HP to today because of the general gen-eral church conference scheduled, next Sunday at Salt Lake City. the new county president, Mrs. Olson, who introduced the new county officers. Today , , . 4f Retired Builder Called by Beath - I William Mildenhell, 77, retired Provo carpenter and builder, died Friday night at the family home, 1500 West Center, of causes incident inci-dent to age. He was bom at Ramsbury, Wil- shire, England, March 14, 1866, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Marshall Mildenhell. He spent his early boyhood in England nad received his education there. Mr. Mildenhall came to Utah in 1882 settling in Bountiful. Six years later he moved to Provo For six years he was dairyman at the Utah state hospital. He narried Annie Halliday February 19, 1891, in Provo. H followed the building and carpenter carpen-ter trade until four years ago when he retired. He was a member of the L.D.S. church and held the office of Elder in the priesthood. Surviving are his widow, two sons and three daughters, William. Leslie, and Ben H. Mildenhall, Mrs. Ella Moore, Mrs. Edna Johnson John-son and Mrs. Mabel Bunnell, all of Provo; 23 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday Tues-day at 1 p. m. at the Second ward chapel, with Bishop Earl Lewis in charge. Friends may call at the Berg mortuary Monday evening eve-ning and at the home of a son, Ben H. Mildenhall, 744 West First South, Tuesday prior to services. Burial will be in the Provo city cemetery. Services will be held in the L. D. S. ward chapels, this , evening at the regular meeting hours. Reported Re-ported programs appear below FIRST WARD A special 4 program has been arranged for 7 o'clock, commemorating commem-orating the fiftieth anniversary of the dedication of the Salt Lake temple. A report of temple activities activi-ties by the ward membership for many years will be given, and special items of interest concerning concern-ing the temple dedication will be presented .by the genealogical chairman. Hansen, well known civic and church worker died at the family home, 245 East 2nd North Friday. Fri-day. He was born in Spanish Fork, Jan. 29, 1865 to James and Karen Anderson Hansen. He mar ried Maud McKell in the Manti L. D. S. temple, April 3, 1889. and they continued to make their home in Spanish Fork where he engaged in farming and in live stock growing. He served as city councilman for Spanish Fork city during 1922 and 1923. He sup ported a missionary for the L. D S. church for two years and was always interested in missionary work. He was a ward teacher for many years and a high priest at the time of his death. He was employed em-ployed in the produce department pf the Spanish Fork Co-op. Surviving are his widow, and the following sons and daughters: Bernefc J. Hansen and Mrs. Dora Maud Johnson, of Spanish Fork; Robert E. Hansen and Mrs. Carrie Car-rie E. Gammoll of Copperton, Utah; William W. Hansen of, Pay son; Mrs. Sylvia May Crandall of Springville and Mrs. Winonna Blanch Mordue of Taranza, California; Cali-fornia; twenty-five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; thirteen thir-teen ' brothers and sisters, Mrs. Sarah Swenson, Spanish Fork; EliaS J. Hansen and Mrs. Sena Anderson of Salt Lake City; Alma Al-ma Hansen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dora Bradford, Santa Barbara, California; Mrs. Hannah Almond and Mrs. Catherine Anderson of Springville; ISrastus Hansen of Palmyra; Ezra Hansen of Rigby, Idaho; Daniel Hansen of Grace, Idaho; Nephi Hansen and Mrs. Nora Shonaker of Los Angeles, California; John Hansen of Span ish Fork. Nielsen Christensen, 85, who died Thursday Thurs-day night , at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Helga Larsen, with whom she Jaad made her home the past four years. Graveside, services will be conducted con-ducted at Ferron, Utah, at 1 p.m. Monday, and burial will be at Ferron, Fer-ron, under direction of A. Y. Wheeler and Son mortuary. Friends may call at the Larsen residence, 140 East Third North street, before the services Sunday. Sun-day. . Mrs. Christensen was torn in Denmark, February 1, 1858, a daughter of Marton and Nikolana Hansen Thyrring. At an oarly age she came to Utah with a brother as converts' to the L.D.S. church. She lived at Ephraim for a number num-ber of years and later moved to Salina. She has been an ardent church worker, having been a Relief Re-lief Society teacher 45 years, , and has also worked in the temple. Besides Mrs. Larsen, she has a son, Christian T. Nielsen of Ferron; Fer-ron; also nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a stepson, step-son, Nick L. Nielsen of Homedale, Ida.; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Nielsen Niel-sen and Mrs. Ella S.
