Friends and relatives of a long-time Orem resident, L. A. Hills are invited to call anytime during today to greet him oni the occasion of his 90th birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs.Hills say they will be happy to meet all visitors. Mrs. Hills was born in Alta, Ia., and came to Utah 40 years ago, residing in Orem for the past 28 years. He was an insurance salesman for 35 years. Now retired,he takes interestin his lawn and enjcys raising flowers and finds many ways to busy. His children include Lee Hills, publisher of the Miarri Herald and Detroit Free Press and ether newspapers, with homes in both Miami and Detroit; Earl Hills, president Carbon-Emery Bank, Price; Cecil Hills Oklahoma City, Okia.; Stanley Hills, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Louise Elwood and Mr. and Mrs. Dulan J. NeLeeuw, Orem entertained for a few friends on Friday evening at their home. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Duke, Mr. and Mrs, DeVon Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Giles Baum and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Davis. Provo Senior Citizens Observe February As Anniversary Month February is anniversary month for the Provo Senior Citizens, Because of this, the City Council on Aging has an outstanding schedule of anniversary activities this month. Last week a dinner meeting was held on the “family” theme at the Eldred Center, with a large and interested group of Senior Citizens participating, including a busload from Davis County. “One Nation Under God” was given as a special feature of the Weduesday book review program by Hisatomi Miyasaki, blind guest artist, who thrilled the large audience with his performance. ‘ Special Progress On Friday, Saturday and Sundayspecial programs will be given, Friday, Feb. 26, a specially arranged ‘Variety Show”will be given by Brigham Young University Program Reed Averett Re-Elected As Fire Chief SPRINGVILLE Reed Averett, of the Springville Volunteer Fire Department, was recently re-elected fire chief for the 1971 year at the annual election meeting held here. Other officers elected to positions for the coming year were as follows: Burt Taylor, first assistant chief; Martain Reed, second assistant chief; Kay Johnson, secretarytreasurer; Floyd Stewart, assistant secrelary-treasurer.
