Show Local Items Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Monsou had as their dinner guests on New Year's da', Patriarch and Mrs. V. B. Smith, Mrs. Monson's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dye, Mrs. C. A. Grant and Miss IJllio Shatter wero among those who attended the Paramount Para-mount theatre in Provo New Year's day. Covers for dinner on New Year's day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johu E. Berg were marked for Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Webb of Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bowman of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Peterson of Mc Gill, Nevada. Mrs. Frank Edwards underwent an operation for appendicitis last Friday at the L. D. S. hospital in Salt Lake City. According to last reports, she is getting along nicely. Misses Ethel and Olive Pratt had as their guests at dinner on New Year's, Miss Ardene Olsen of this city and Messrs. Tom Briggs and George Brown of Murray. Dr. and Mrs. Frank Hatfield of Los Angeles, California, and Miss Catherine Cath-erine Bougie of Springville, were dinner din-ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mower Mow-er at their home last Friday. A delightful New Y'ear's Eve party of the week was given by Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Nicholes, the guests bid den including Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Allen, All-en, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Nicholes and Dr. and Mrs. Allen G. Brockbank. Progressive "Rook" was tho feature diversion, followed by a midnight j luncheon. Dr. and Mrs. James M. Grant presided pre-sided over a well appointed turkey dinner at their home last Thursday evening. Dinner was served at 8 O'clock, covers being laid for Mrs. Rose H. Grant, Mrs. Lorena Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Grant, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Grant of this city, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin W. Gr:tnt of Pleasant Grove, E. J. Nash, Miss Mlna Nash and Noel Ephie Nash of Alpine. Following dinner, games and music were enjoyed enjoy-ed until midnight, at which time dainty dain-ty refreshments were served. Another crowd who joined in welcoming wel-coming the new year in and UHbernlg the old year out, were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Evans. Hosts and hostess for the enjoyable affair were G. C. Evans, J. L. Mower and Mrs. Annie Hardman. An oyster supper was a feature of the party along with games and music. The guests present included: Mr. and Mrs, E P. Evans, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mw-er, Mw-er, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Clarke and daughter of this city and 'Mrs. Annlo Hardman and daughter, Ruth of Salt j Lake City.
