Show Pleasant Grove Locals I Mr. and Mra. Joseph. E. Green of Salt Lake City, were Pleasant Grove visitors Monday. Mrs. Jjois S. West of Salt Lake, I was a guest of Pleasant Grove relatives rela-tives Sunday. Mrs. Elva Bezzant of Magna, visited Sunday with her father, Nels T. Fenton. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Jarvis of Salt Lake, were Kew Year's 'guests of Mrs. Ethel West and family. C. II Johnson and Dean Udell of Lehi made a business trip; to Salt Lake Tuesday. H. V. Ford and wife of Salt Lake called on Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Theobald Theo-bald at the Luncheonette Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jense of Provo, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jense on New Year's day. Miss Leda Thompson, who has spent the Holidays with relatives at Ephraim, returned to Pleasant Grove Wednesday. Miss Ruth Coleman of Heber, is the guest of Miss June Van Wagoner for a few days. Mrs. Lucius Laudie and children of Ogden, have been visiting relatives rela-tives here during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks entertained enter-tained a few friends Tuesday evening even-ing to assist them in ushering in the hew year. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Smith: had as their dinner guests Monday evening, Mrs. Marie Smith and sons, Ervine and Ernest. Mrs. Hannah Peterson, 84, was operated on recently at the Lehi Hospital for hernia. At last reports she was improving nicely. Mr. and Mrs.. C. L. Johnson and daughters, Helen and Betty, were the guests of Mrs. Maud. Udell of Mrs. Hannah! Robinson, Mrs. G. K. Robinson and Mrs. Nellie Halli-day Halli-day of Salt Lake, were Pleasant Grove visitors Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Will H. Green of Eureka, were in Pleasant Grove Monday to attend the funeral of Mr. Green's brother, A. R. Green. j Lehi, on New Year's day. J Mr. and Mrs. Ray Houtz left Thursday for Madison, Wisconsin, after visiting during the holidays with Mrs. Houtz's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Williamson, and other j relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Humphries were dinner guests of their daughter daught-er and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Cy-ril Anderson, at Provo New Year's day. Word Was recently been received by Mrs. Jane Walker of the death of her brother, David W. Holman, at Sanford, Colorado. Mrs. Walker visited visit-ed several weeks with h'er brother last summer. Dinner guests at the home of Dr. B. C. Linebaugh on New Year's day were: Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bagley of Nephi, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jor-genson Jor-genson of Salt Lake, Miss Iris Irons and C. M. Burgess of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Niels Fugal had as their dinner guests Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. John E. Christensen and Ernest Clayton the latter who recently returned re-turned from the Eastern States mission. mis-sion. Mr. Clayton was the principal speaker at the Third ward Sunday evening. James Gillman entertained his family at dinner on New Year's day. The members present were: Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gillman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gillman and family, Mr and Mrs. Vernon Gillman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gillman and family, Mrs. Leonard Harris and Mrs. Chester James of Crescent. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Halliday entertained enter-tained at a family dinner on New Year's day. The relatives present were: W. S. Robinson, Mrs. Sabina Allen of American Fork, Mrs. Lucius Laudie and children of Ogden, and Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Jacobs of this city. Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Humphries entertained en-tertained Sundiay at a family dinner. The members present were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Humphries and family, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Humphries and family of American Fork, and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Anderson of Provo. The Sunday School class that was taught by Ernest Clayton, previous to Ms leaving for the mission field, entertained in his honor at a social Wednesday evenfng at the home of Joseph S. Walker. The evening was spent in games and social chat. Those present were: Lowell Richins, Marvin Olson, Sherwood Johnson, George Nielsen, Bert Nielson, Mary Richins, Rhodin Christiansen, Lu-renaand Lu-renaand Fern Radmall, Thelma Walker. David Williamson and Mr The Misses Maurine and Helen Gamett entertained at a social Tuesday Tues-day evening. The special feature of the evening was to watch the old year out and the new year in. The evening was spent in games and a delicious luncheon served. Twenty-five Twenty-five guests were present. Russel Swenson, who has been employed for several years as seminary semi-nary teacher at Hurricane, Utah, has recently been selected as a member of the new Hurricane Stake Presidency. Presi-dency. He returned to his work in Hurricane after spending the holidays holi-days with relatives here. Last Sunday evening H. W. Clark, who recently returned from the California Cali-fornia mission, was the principal speaker at the Second ward services. Ex-bishop S. L.
