Show District Votes In Favor Of School Bonds By a vote of 2041 for and 232 against, the $1,450,000 bnnd issue met with overwhelming approval by the taxpayers of the Alpine school district Monday. Superintendent Superin-tendent D. R Mitchell was extremely extreme-ly gratified with the results of the election as were members of the Board of Education. The board will now be enabled to improve the school facilities in the badly congested areas. No elementary el-ementary school buildings now in use are to be replaced at the present pres-ent time, as the building program at this time will take care only of increasing needs of certain areas. ar-eas. The vote by districts is as follows: fol-lows: Pleasant Grove 253 for, 27 against; ag-ainst; American Fork 489 for, 71 against; Orem 774 for, 19 against; Lehi205 for, 47 against; Cedar Fort 35 for 6 against; Alpine 32 for, 51 against; Lakeview, Vineyard and Lindon 82 for, 6 against; Pleasant View 171 for, 5 against. The school board has made no statement as to where the new schools will be located, however need will determine the allocat ion and Orem and American Fork have been designated as No. 1 and No. 2 critical areas. |
