Show Funeral Services Held Monday for C. VI. Fowles Funeral services for Charles Merrill Fowles were held Monday, March 3, 1975 at 1:30 p.m. in the Timpanogos Slake Center under the direction of Bishop Lyle Thacker of the Second Ward. Mr. Fowles, 79, died of influenza in-fluenza Thursday, Feb. 27 in the American Fork Hospital. Speakers at the services were Elwood Allen and Lloyd Walker, and remarks were given by Bishop Thacker. Alife sketch was also given by Val Clements. Musical numbers included a vocal duet by Hazel Bullock and Robert Hicks, "Whispering Hope" accompanied by Zoe James, a vocal solo "Hold Thou Mv Hand" bv Nancy Ekins, accompanied by Marcene Thacker, and another duet "Invocation by Mrs. Bullock and Mr. Hicks. Prayers were given by Eldon Davis, Donald Holdaway, Joseph Davis, and the grave was dedicated in the Fairview City Cemetery by Lawrence Larson. Pallbearers were Charles, Eugene.Odell, Randy, Allen and Stephen Fowles and honorary pallbearers were Neldon Fowles, Dean, Rocky, Oscar, Kevin, Boyd, Danny and David Davis. Charles Merrill Fowles was born Jan. 21, 1896 in Fairview to Charles William and Martha Eleanor Vance Fowles. He married Ruby Naomi Peterson on Aug. 30, 1916 in the Manti LDS Temple, and she died July 28, 1928. He married Blanch Hazel Mitchell on June 30, 1930 in Provo and she died Jan. 29, 1943. He married Margaret Muglestein on Dec. 10, 1946 in Evanston, Wyo. Mr. Fowles was a timber cutter. Survivors include his widow, three sons and one daughter, Grant, and Don Fowles and Mrs. Ed (Jessie) Mart, all of Pleasant Grove, and Rex Fowles, Salt Lake City; four stepsons and three steo- daughters, Joseph B. Davis, Eldon JDavis and Mrs. Rollace (Deloar) Pugh, all of Pleasant Grove; Dennis L. Davis and Mrs. Lynn (NaDean) Bellows, both of Orem; Mrs. Wallace (Faye) Carlson, Esk-dale, Esk-dale, Southern, Utah; Niel A. Davis, Campbell, Calif.; 56 1 grandchildren and 75 great grandchildren. |
