Show Funeral Rites Friday for D, W. West Funeial services will be conducted conduc-ted Friday, February 14 in the First Ward Chapel for David Waldemar West, 84, who died at his home Tuesday morning. Known to his friends as "Wally", he was born in Pleasant Grove, January 13, 1874. He was (the son of Charles Henry and Fderrikka C. Ahelefeldt Loui-vigen West. Mr. West was at the time of his death, the oldest man in this area that was born in Pleasant Grove. When just a young man, the family lived whet" the new Central School now stands. At that time they were stricken with dyptheria and five children died within two weeks. They then moved to Lindon where he lived until his marriage March 23 ,1904, to Elva Vilate Adams. With the exception of one year in Bingham and four years in East Garland, he lived his life in this community. He is survived by his wife and nine children and 33 grandchildren. Mrs. West, Ross and Byron H., of Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Earl (Ruby) Hawkins, Provo; Mrs. Clarence (LaVarda) Hurst, Mrs. Wells (Nellie) Sanders, Burt West of Salt Lake City; Mrs, Morgan (Thelma) Boley of Ogden; Harvard West, of Redwood City, California, and Mrs. Wm. (Madge) Tatum of Fresno, California .Two ba-others also survive, Alroy West, Salt Lake City and Archie West of Fresno, California. Friends may call at the Olpin-Sundberg Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary Thursday evening ev-ening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. |
