Show Temple Rites Unite Young Couple Monday, Oct. 25 The Salt Lake Temple was the scene of the marriage of ' Karen Morrill and Kenneth G. Beckstrom on Monday Oct. 25. Temple President Presi-dent EIRay Christianson officiated at the impressive rites. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Deloss Morrill. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Beckstrom are parents of the groom. Witnessing the marriage were parents of the young couple, and their brother and sister Mr. and Mrs. Legrande Beckstrom and grandmother Mrs. Leaken; Mr. and Mrs. Blake Fordham; Mrs. Royal Covington, and Mrs. Douglas Covington. Following the marriage the party enjoyed luncheon at the Guy Beckstrom home. In the evening from 8 to 10:30 p.m. a nicely arranged reception honoring the newlyweds was held in the Timpanogos Stake House, where with a background of ferns, palms, and lighter candelabra the bride and groom assisted by their parents received relatives and friends. Others in the lineup were the brides sister, Mrs. Legrande Beckstrom, matron of honor, and bridesmaids Sandra and Linda Mae Morrill, Mary Peterson, Alta Hul-linger, Hul-linger, and flower girl Venetta Morrill, and Legrande Beckstrom, who stood as best man for his brother. The bride donned a shimmering gown of white lace and taffeta fitted lace bodies with Peter Pan collar and long sleeves and full net skirt over taffeta; and sheer fingertip veil. She carried white carnations and roses circiling an orchid. Her attendants in pastel for-mals for-mals held nosegays of roses and carnations. Therold Beckstrom and Lindon Morrill ushered, and Mrs. Leon Thornton attended to the registration registra-tion of guests. During the receiving hours Mrs. Maxine Cole sang vocal numbers, and Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Marvin Throckmartin sang a duet. Dancing, viewing the gifts, and partaking of tasty refreshments completed the festivities. A large serving table was covered cov-ered with a lace cloth and centered center-ed with a beautiful wedding cake flanked by lighter candles. Young ladies who served were Laurene Smith, JoAnn Gardner, Charlotte Gardner, Kathie Covington, and Yvonne Bell. Arranging the gift display were Mrs. Royal Covington, Mrs. Jay Hall and Miss Kay Gardner. Bev-ery Bev-ery Forham and Peggy Covington were gift bearers. |
