New Utah - Thursday, April 1 , 2004 - Page 9 Residents may comment on transportation Six maps of transportation transporta-tion alternatives for the Mountain View Corridor (MVC) are available on the project website at Residents are encouraged encour-aged to view the maps and submit comments. "We are committed to continuing our work with local communities to gather feedback and identify the best transportation solution for the Mountain View Corridor," Cor-ridor," said Teri Newell, project manager for the Utah Department of Transportation Trans-portation (UDOT). "We urge the public to view the maps of potential alternatives and to identify issues to be considered as we continue to shorten the list of possible possi-ble solutions." The detailed maps that are posted on the site are for the Salt Lake County portion of the project, mcluding three alternatives for west Salt Lake County from Salt Lake City to Kearns. Two alternatives for southwest Salt Lake County, from West Jordan to Bluffdale, are also on the site. Although one map with transportation alternatives for the whole corridor is posted, detailed maps for the Utah County portion will not be available until May. "We have identified eight potential transportation transporta-tion solutions for connecting connect-ing the MVC transportation transporta-tion alternative in Salt Lake County with 1-15," said Newell. "The team is currently working with local governments govern-ments to identify the pros and cons for each option in order to build consensus for the most viable potential poten-tial solutions in Utah County." The project team encourages encour-ages residents to visit the project Web site again in mid-May to access an updated list of the transportation trans-portation alternatives being considered. Public participation is encouraged throughout the MVC Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) three-year process. Residents Resi-dents may use the following tools to voice their opinions about the MVC EIS: Complete a "Public Input Form" on the MVC EIS Web site Call the toll-free comment com-ment line at 1-800-596-2556 Fax comments to 1-801-262-4303 Send an e-mail to mountain viewsitah. gov Mail input to: Mountain Moun-tain View Corridor, co Parsons Par-sons Brinckerhoff, 488 E.
