Show Funerals Rites for Altha R. Johnson Held on Saturday Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Saturday, January 30 for Mrs. Altha Richins Johnson of Lake View, native of Pleasant Grove, who died Tuesday at a Salt Lake hospital. The impressive service, directed by Bishop Murlyn L. Brown of the Lake View Ward, began at 1 p.m. at the Olpin-Sundberg Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary. Prior to the regular service, Arnold Ar-nold Richins, a brother, offered family prayer at the closing of the casket. The service began with a vocal solo, "In the Garden," by Emma Olson. Invocation was offered by Vaur Walters and Dean Taylor of Lake View Ward was the first speaker. A vocal solo, "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked," was sung by Gene Nelson, accompanied by Janeil Fugal. ' Second speaker "who paid tribute tri-bute to the memory of Mrs. Johnson John-son and spoke words of encouragement encour-agement to the family was J. C. Hilton, a neighbor of school days. He was followed by a vooal duet, "Beyond the Sunset" by Vera Zobell and Melba Wheeler. After closing remarks of sympathy sym-pathy and appreciation for the family by Bishop Brown, a male quartet, Barney, Joseph, John and Glade Hilton sang "The Old Rugged Cross." They were accompanied ac-companied by Joan Hilton. Benediction - was pronounced by Dr. Carlos Madspn. Interment, directed by Olpin-Sundberg Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary, was made in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery Ceme-tery where George Paul, a brother-in-law, offered the dedicator-ial dedicator-ial prayer. Pallbearers, all close relatives, were George R. Paul, Jay Paul, Kenneth Richins, Ray Richins, Myron Johnson, and A. F. Fischio. Lake View Ward Relief Society cared for and arranged the flowers. flow-ers. Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 22, 1900 in Pleasant Grove to Thomas A. and Ellen Jay Richins. Rich-ins. She married Clarence Johnson John-son Sept. 12, 1922, in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Tem-ple. Survivors include her husband, Lake View; sons, daughter, Dallas Dal-las C, Pleasant Grove; LaVerl R., Brigham City; Mrs. Dellera J. Brukiewa, Northridge, Calif.; five grandohildren; sister, brothers, Mrs. Amy Paul, Arnold, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove; Allan, Salt Lake City. |
