Show Funeral Services Is Held Last Saturday for Mrs. Whitehead Touching and impressive funeral services were conducted Saturday at 1.30 p. m. for Mrs. Pearl Olpin Whitehead, who died earlier in the week at her home of a heart ailment. ail-ment. The spacious First ward chapel was well-filled with relatives and friends who came to pay tribute to the memory of Mrs. Whitehead, and express sympathy for her family. With Bishop Harold Bullock of the Grove ward in charge, the service opened with a male quartet quar-tet singing "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling. They were Ellis Holdaway, Kirby Allen, Taylor Allen and Don Allen, accompanied by Mrs. Taylor Allen. Invocation was offered by H. S. Walker. Speakers who paid tribute to the life and work of Mrs. Whitehead White-head were J. A. West and David Gourley. Both extolled the noble characteristics of Mrs. Whitehead, as a wife, a mother and a teacher, and uttered words of encouragement encourage-ment and faith to those bereaved. The speakers -were interspersed by a vocal duet, "Hold Thou My Hand," by Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Allen, accompanied by Irwin Ir-win Jensen, who also played prelude pre-lude and postlude organ music. After closing remarks by Bishop Bullock, the male quartette sang the closing number, "Jesus My Savior." Benediction was pronounced by C. J. Cobbley. Interment directed by Olpin Mortuary was made in the Pleasant Grove City cemetery where President Merrill N. War-nick War-nick offered the graveside prayer. Floral offerings were outstanding, outstand-ing, and were arranged by the 'Grove ward Relief Society. Pall bearers, close friends of the family, were Ross Brady, Darrell Harper, Mario Brady, Dee Olpin, Blaine Shields, Kenneth Richins.
