Show FUNERAL SERVICES FOR LAURA B. WILLIAMS Impressive funeral i-ites were conducted Thursday at 1 oclock in the First Ward L. D. S. Chapel, for Laura B. Williams who died on Monday, January 25, at the home of her sister Mrs. Emily Rae. The services with Bishop Junius A West in charge, opened with a vocal solo "Lay My Head Beneath a Rose" by Mrs. May R. Walker, accompanied by Irwin Jensen. The invocation was offered by R. D. Wadley, and was followed by an organ solo, "Ave Marie" by Irwin Jensen. First sepaker was Jos. J. William, Will-iam, president of the Woodruff Stake, and Ibrother-in-law of the departed, who eugolized the life of Mrs. Williams and told of her undying devotion to family, her friends and 'her church. President Williams also hore testimony to the truthfulness of the Gospel and the goodness of God. Mrs. Berniece Christensen sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought." She was accompanied by Irwin Jensen:. Dr. John Z. Brown, an uncle of Mrs. Williams was the next sepaker sepak-er and expressed sympathy for the family, and paid 'tribute to Mrs. Emily Rae, who had cared for Mrs. Williams during her seventeen years of illness. President W. W. Warnick, who for years ha dben a schoolmate of the deceased told of thesumny dis-psoition dis-psoition and popularity of Laura among the countless friends and schoolmates. . Bishop West was the concluding speaker and expressed sympathy for the family of Mr. Williams, and deep appreciation for Mrs. Rae and Mrs. Mills for their devotion to the invalid sister. The closing number "O My P'ather" was rendered by Mrs. Christensen accompanied by Miss Carol Smith and beendiction benediction bene-diction was pronounced by A. Lee Harper. Organ Prelude and postlude was nlayed by Irwin Jensen. Burial took place in the Wasatch l awn Cemetery in Salt Lake Citv. Pallbearers included: Dean Bullock, Bul-lock, Kayle Bullock, Orson Good, vear. Dale Goodvear, Calvin Mills and Forrest Cullimore. |
