Show Funeral Was Held Sunday For Blanche M. Fowles The Second Ward 1.. D. S. Chapel was filled almost !" capacity on Sunday afternoon when sorrowing relatives and friend came out to pay final respects to the memory of Blanche Mitchell Fowles and show love and sympathy for her family. The impressive and inspiring services ser-vices were directed by Bishop C. R. Clark. The Singing Mothers of which group Mrs -Fowles ". as a member, sang the opening i. umber "Sister Thou Was Mild and Lovely'" They were directed by M - s. C. R. Clark and accompanied by Mrs. H. W. Clark. Prayer was offerocd by Claude Stewart. A biographical sketch was read by Mrs. Ethel Alh-n, a life-long friend and former class mate. The first speaker was Burton H. Adams, a neighbor and former Bishop of the Second Ward, who had known and worked with Mrs. Fowles since her childhood & paid high tribute to the young mother for her sunny disposition and untiring un-tiring devotion to those whom she loved. A. P. Warnick, a former teacher was the next scpaker, and gave some wonderful thoughts on life its purpose and progress. Wm. Kitchen, after paying tribute tri-bute to the Foweh- and Mitchell families for their '.hrift and integrity inte-grity confined his talk to the principles prin-ciples of the Gospel and life to come. Closing; words c. ' svn-.pathy and appreciation were expressed by Bishop Clark. Musical numbers interspercing the speakers were: two vocal solos "Teach Me To Pray and "A Perfect Day by Eugene Nelson of Provo, accompanied by Miss Carol Clar.k An instrumental number "Jesus Lover of My Soul" played by a String Trio including Miss Marilyn Mari-lyn Richards, Miss Winona Momson, Misss Romona Monson and Miss Carol Clark and the final number "There's A Beautiful Land" by the Singing Mothers. Benediction was pronounced by Ernest P. Smith and the dedicatory prayer at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery was offered by Horrace 'Hadfield. Prelude and postlude music was played by the string trio. Mrs. Fowles was born in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, February 22, 1909, to Robert and Ethel Jeppson Mitchel. She received her educatios in the schools of this city, graduating from the Pleasant Grove High School in 1926, as Valedictorian of her class. She married Merill Fowles and with him has made her home here and at Colton where they held interests. Mrs. Fowles has been an active church worker since childhood. She was at one time a counsellor in the Y. L. M. I. A. & snice then has worked in different auxiliary organizations. or-ganizations. She was an active member of the Relief Society until ill health overtook her, and was beloved by all who knew her, for her sunny disposition. She died on January 30, at the homeof her sister Mrs. Marva Smith of Salt Lake City. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, her parents, three sons and one daughter, Mrs Jesse F. Mart Don and Rex Fowles of Pleasant Grove and Private Grant Fowles stationed in Florida, four sisters Mrs. Fern Hicks, and Mrs. Marv Lee of Pleasant Grove, Mrs. - Peva Hadfield of Lehi, and Mrs. Marva Smith of Salt Lake Citv. .
