Show Ladies Literary Presents Books To American Fork Seminary s A splendid addition to the library of the American Fork Seminary was made Tuesday, when the Ladies Literary Lit-erary club presented a collection of new books to the seminary. The presentation was made at exercises carried out during a regular regu-lar class period of the Old Testament Testa-ment class, in the forenoon. Four members of the literary group were present. Mrs. H. C. Jensen, president of the club, announced that the club had undertaken a project for the benefit of the seminary, and expressed ex-pressed the hope that it would be a useful one. She introduced Mrs. Maude D. Christensen, who presented present-ed the new volumes and spoke briefly. brief-ly. Mrs. W. R. Halliday and Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte also spoke, and the gift was accepted on behalf of the seminary by Mary Robinson. Principal Prin-cipal E. Ray Gardner spoke in appreciation ap-preciation of the efforts of the 1 literary club and briefly reviewed the various projects to equip and fum- ai lsh the seminary undertaken by the graduating classes and by public- spirited persons. The new books were selected as being of special interest to the young ' people of the L. D. S. church. They 1 include "The Vision or The Degrees of Glory," compiled by N. B. Lund- ' wall; "Gospel Doctrine Sermons and Writings of Joseph F. Smith"; "For This My Glory", by Paul Forbes Bailey; "Cumorah's Gold Bible", by E. Cecil McGavin; "Pioneer Stories", by Preston Nibley; "Elbert Hubbard's Scrapbook"; "Unto the Hills", by r Richard L. Evans; "Teachings of the lis Prophet Joseph Smith," compiled he and arranged by Joseph Fielding Smith; "The Life of Joseph F. lct Smith", by Joseph Fielding Smith; "Buried Empires of South America," and "Your Rights Under the Constitution". |
