Show Lynn B. Harper Earl W. Matthews Lynn B. Harper, 62, of Murray, former resident of Lindon, died Monday, Aug. 19, 1985 at Cottonwood Hospital. He was born Dec. 29, 1922 in Lindon to Alfred Benjamin and Emma Sarah Hooley Harper. He married Colleen Wilcox. They were later divorced. He married Eula Mowrey on March 1, 1958 in Evanston, Wyo. He was a member of the LDS Church. He attended Lindon and Pleasant Grove schools. He had been employed at Eimco Foundry and with the Murray School District. He is survived by his wife, Murray; a son and a daughter: Blaine Harper and Cindy Beddoes, both of Spanish Fork; a stepdaughter, step-daughter, Wendy Kendall, West Valley City; five grandchildren; grand-children; two step grandchildren; a brother and three sisters: Howard Har per, Provo; Thelma Bloomquist, Salt Lake City; Helen Frandsen, Orem; and Marie Thrasher, American Fork. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. He worked for Pleasant Grove Can-M Can-M Company for 17 Ps. He was later employed by Alpine School District for 20 years. He was an active m ember of the LDS Church, having sderved as an elders quorum president, ward clerk and as a member of the Manila Ward bishopric. He was active in the scouting program and helped young boys achieve the rank of Eagle. He attended the Second Miler Scouting affair. Survivors include his wife of Pleasant Grove; three sons and three daughters; David Matthews, American Fork; Lynn Matthews, Boyd Matthews, Mrs. Jeff (Gayle) Ewell and Jeanette Matthews, all Pleasant Grove; and Mrs. Bob (Joyce) Burr, Orem; 17 grandchildren; grand-children; and three brothers and one sister: Reed Matthews, serving ser-ving an LDS mission to New York; Glade and Dale Matthews, West Jordan; and Mrs. Vern (LaRee) Black, Sandy. Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Manila Stake Center, 1800 N. 100 East, Pleasant Grove. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Effie Gibbons Funeral services were beldAug. 12 for Effie L. pectol Gibbons who died Hug 8. The service was held in the Lehi Stake Center with Bishop Don Yates officiating. Lois Neil played the prelude and postlude music and the prayer with family members was spoken by Melvin Pectol. Lawnie Mayhew offered the invocation. Vocal duets, "Families Can Be Forever" and "Love is Spoken Here" were sung by Miriam and Carl Gibbons. They were accompanied by Lois Neil. Following comforting remarks by Bishop Yates, an interesting and inspirational biographical sketch was given by Colleen Lopez. The sketch was written by Ila Pulley. The beautiful song, "That Wonderful Mother of Mine," was sung by George Swenson accompanied by Joan Welch. Speakers who eulogized Mrs. Gibbons for her many wonderful qualities were Leon Pulley and Donald P. Gibbons. A chorus of grandchildren sang the favorite, "I Am a Child of God," and Bert Wilson offered the benediction. The dedicatory prayer at American Fork City Cemetery was spoken by Byron Pectol. Pallbearers were grandsons: Eldon Pulley, Mike Lopez, Gordon Pulley, Carl Gibbons, Richard Gibbons and John M. Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Eric Gibbons, Brian Gibbons, Gib-bons, Ryan Pulley and John Jones. The flowers were cared for by the Lehi Tenth Ward Relief Society. Senior Citizens plan Rose Parade tour The Pleasant Grove Senior Citizens are sponsoring a tour to the New Year's Day Rose Parade at Pasadena, Calif. They will tour the Los Angeles area, as well.
