Craig Blakesley, Accident Victim, Buried on Tuesday Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1971 in memory mem-ory of Craig Lee Blakesley, 17, who died Nov. 11 in a Salt Lake Hospital of injuries sustained sus-tained in an auto-pedestrian accident ac-cident one week earlier. The services were under the direction of Bishop Nyle Harris Har-ris of the Lindon Second Ward. Speaker at the services was David McCuistion, and Bishop Harris also gave remarks. Musical selections were given giv-en by Craig's seminary class, "Abide With Me" and "Nearer "Near-er My God to Thee" and a vocal vo-cal solo was sung by Nancy Ekins, "You'll Never Walk Alone," accompanied by La-Dean La-Dean Gillman. Invocation was given by Kevin Kev-in Edwards and benediction pronounced by Alan March-banks. March-banks. The grave, in the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove City Cemetery, was dedicated by Bishop Lowell Gillman. Pallbearers were Scott Bennett, Ben-nett, Gary Green, David Phillips, Phil-lips, Gary Hoglund, Gordon Jorgensen, Bruce Bezzant, Jim Smith and Craig Faux. Craig Lee Blakesley was born July 12, 1954 in Sturgis, Mich., to Mervel E. and Irene Inman Blakesley. He was a senior at Pleasant Grove High School and an active member of the LDS Church. He was serving as a counselor in the Priest's quorum and president of his Sunday School class and chorister chor-ister in his seminary class at the time of his death. He was active in sports and had played on the Pleasant Grove High School football team. Survivors include his parents, three brothers and two sisters, Michael, Vietnam; Sheila, Pomona, Calif.; Mrs. Steven (Dolores) Higginson and Harold, Har-old, both of Pleasant Grove; Mervel Blakesley, Jr., on an LDS mission in Guatemala; grandmothers, Mrs. Dolores Blakesley, Pleasant Grove and Mrs. Ruth Inman, San Diego. |
