Show Funeral Rites Held Last Thursday for Mrs. Florence Ball Impressive funeral rites were conducted Thursday, March 22 in the Second-Fourth Ward chapel for Mrs. Florence P. Ball, who died earlier in the week at her home here. With Bishop Harry S. Richards of the Fourth Ward in charge, the services began at 1 p.m. with a ladies' trio, Fern Hicks, Drucilla Smith and Rosalie Richards singing sing-ing "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." They were accompanied by Alice Judd. Invocation was offered by Reed O. Walker. First speaker was Ernest P. Smith, a close and intimate fiiend who paid tribute to Mrs. Ball for her unselfishness and helpfulness to others and years of devotion to her husband and related many incidents in-cidents throughout the life of Mrs. Ball as taken from her own writings. writ-ings. Ertmann Christensen read some poetic selections which closely portrayed por-trayed the character of Mrs. Ball and then gave valuable thoughts on life here and hereafter. After closing remarks of sympathy sym-pathy and appreciation for the family fa-mily by Bishop Richards, Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Allen, accompanied ac-companied by Miss Rosalie Richards, Rich-ards, sang "Sometime We'll Understand." Un-derstand." Benediction was pronounced by Kent Anderson. Burial, directed by Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary, was made in the Pleasant Grove City cemetery, where Robert Marrott offered the dedicatorial prayer. Pallbearers, all close relatives, were Lynn Anderson, Harold Pax-man, Pax-man, Floyd Lovell, Ferrin Goode, Roy Savage, Howard Pace. Flowers were cared for by the Fourth Ward Relief Society. |
