Show Funeral Services For Mary Esklund Held Last Thursday The large funeral chapel at the Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary was filled fill-ed to overflowing on March 22nd when saddended relatives and friends gathered to pay last tribute tri-bute of respect to Mary Esklund and express sympathy for her only survivor, her daughter Maureen. The service began at 3 p.m. with Gerald Belliston of the Fourth Ward Bishopric conducting. The opening number Abide With Me, was sung by Mrs. Ernest Smith, Miss Rosalie Richards and Mrs. Bryant Hicks, accompanied by Mrs. Grant Judd. Invocation was offered by Ray Pulley. First speaker was Grant Thompson, Thomp-son, a relative who paid tribute to his kinswoman, heroic in happiness and in sorrow, and in speaking in a religious mood, used as his theme "For a Wise and Glorious Purpose, etc, and stressed the thot that Blessings Must Be Earned. Dr. Grant Y. Anderson ,toldi of his many years of close work and association with Mrs. Esklund, as an attendant and nurse in his office. of-fice. Her devotion to duty; her independence; in-dependence; how she accepted sorrow sor-row and sickness and bore the brunt herself; and never cringed. Closing remarks of sympathy and appreciation were made by Mr. Belliston, after which Mrs. La-Ree La-Ree S. Radmall sang I'll Walk With God, accompanied by Rosalie Richards, who also played prelude and postlude organ music. Benediction was pronounced by Bishop Harvey Smith. Interment was made in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Preston Thompson, Thomp-son, Gordon Thompson, Grant Anderson, Elwood Pnestwich, Glen Miller and Kent Anderson. Fourth Ward Relief Society cared for the flowers. |
