In spite of threatening weather the crowd was pleased by some fine ball games by a variety of teams. Topping off the day was the official announcement of the new name of the park, Orchard Hills Field. Presumably in the near future an appropriate sign will be erected indicating this colorful title. Congratulations to those who were responsible for the activities which were under the direction of the Stake Presidency headed by Reed Money. The stake leaders did a fine job but were unable to handle the bishoprics and lost a spirited game by the score of 14 to 8. This game was shortened because there was no doctor in attendance and sore muscles demanded either treatment or relief. In other games the Yankees Little League team beat the Giants Pony League game, Bees over Yankees The Kiwanis team beat the Braves 12-- 5. The final game was between Murray and Payson teams of the Beehive State League with Murray winning on a by Jenkins 1. Hunter safety course needed As the first of Utahs 1969 big game hunting seasons are nearing, the Division of Fish and Game issued a reminder to all first-tim- e juvenile hunters that they must qualify through a hunter safety course before becoming eligible to buy a hunting license. Antelope, archery, deer and mourning dove hunts are all opening within the next 30 days and over a dozen other hunts will open before the last bird hunts begin in early November, State law require any person under 21 years of age to show a proper certificate when applying for their first hunting license. Those over 16 may present a certificate showing they have passed equivalent training in the armed services, ROTC, NRA, or show their hunting license from a previous year. For information on a training class in your area, you may call the Fish and Game office nearest you or contact your local Conservation Officer. All hunters 16 and under must show the blue hunter safety card as proof of passing the hunter safety course when purchasing any hunting license.
