| Show music department entertains P T A wednesday night at 8 in the high school auditorium the music department part ment of the park city high school U under alder the directorship of byron jones jone s music supervisor put on rt a splendid concert ot of solos and band band contest numbers b batore e t ore a house bouse filled to more than capacity c 1 t y the following program was given march national high school march high school band solos trumpet glen sanger banger vi violin 0 oral strven stevens n s cl clarinet agi n et dahll 1 smith sal t trombones t r clin 0 zula a clegg e g 0 george e ROBS s s lamar osaka and lamar hoover saxophones lowell smith virgil mills and max wuey wiley band contest numbers march olympic hippodrome alexander premier overture losey urbana overture roberts vocal solos soloa sopranos anoe K X a t h e r I 1 n a sheen louise delaney arid and anna levey contralto lela christensen Chrls baritone ballton jack gren green the accompanists were mrs D A smith miss teresa petit mrs B fletcher and mrs C mckay jack green and francis harrington who are representing this district in the oratorical contest to be held soon noon in salt bait lake gave their orations in a pleasing manner thrilling their vast audience mr jones in order to encourage solo work among am 0 ng high school students offers a medal known as the jones medea medal to the outstanding soloist ot of the year prof emery 0 epperson of salt lake city was wait the judge for this difficult task glen sanger banger trumpet solo first in instrument ment with the smith brothers winning second and third places these three boys will also c compete in logan katherine sheen loon won first place tor for solo A dance sponsored by the parent teacher association to help defray expenses for the band at logan friday and saturday was held in the gymnasium following the program tickets or paid admissions were taken at the door the PT P T A officers wish to thank every one who contributed to this worthy cause and makes it possible for mr jones to take his splendid organization to logan our best wishes go with them for a worthy showing may they come back with the cup for another year A 0 0 secy |
