The light snow and general overcast didn't keep many racers away 132 showed up for the second Town Race. Ginni Lee Sprague again swamped the lady cross country racers. She beat Terril Stevenson by 12.28 seconds. The cross country men were more competitive. Charles Wallace's time of 70.38 outdistanced Jim Poore by a mere .23 seconds. Mark Oliver was third, but well back. Jake's won the team cross country affair with a combined time (two guys and one lady) of 228.73. In second se-cond was the Eating Establishment at 236.99. SteinFunk was third at 239.60. Stacy Cofer, whipped up on the C women with a time of 74.79. She beat Jeahnie Kutcher; by nearly - four seconds. In third was Pat Lorenzo. Buster Byrnes won the men's C bracket with a time of 73.08. He was second after the first run to Tal Ferguson, but had a faster second run. Ferguson's combined time was 73.77. In third was Bruce Petti john. The C teams were taken by Pee Wee Herman's, with a time of 224.29. Steeps was second at 243.22. Sandy Yusen won the B women with a time of 71.36, crushing the rest of the field. Stacy Martin was second, Heather Armstrong third. Town Race regular, Starla Durbin, was a disappointing fourth. Brian Speth grabbed a tight men's B win, with a time of 68.45. Jeff Morris Mor-ris was second at 68.87. Andy Coe was third. The Club, that racing syndicate, grabbed the B title for the week, using us-ing the times of Martin, Speth, and Ira Jackson for a total of 213.72. Pee Wee Herman's was second at 219.94. Scott Thompson whipped up on the A men by over a second, as well. Thompson's time of 60.07 abused Don Hicks in second at 61.25, and Jim Poore in third at 61 .82. The A teams were where the real action was on the day. There, Bahnhof Sports' time of 194.36 was just four hundredths better than Cole Sport in second. Rightfit was a distant third at 196.83. Holly Flanders continues to mash the Pro ladies. Flanders won both runs easily to post a combined time of 60.20. Lisa Wilcox was way back at 62.50 in the four woman field. Jan Karpiel hammered the Pro men with a time of 58.11, also easily winning both runs. Kirk Langford was a distant second at 59.77, Todd Scholpy third at 59.87. Flanders speedy time led Jans to the Pro team win with a time of 181.24. ColejSport wasn't far back at ' 181.53, however. Sue Hedgecock took the Provet women with a time of 63.98. Karen Russo was second in the five woman field. Victor Roy was the quickest Pro-vet Pro-vet male at 59.28. Danny Brelsford was second at 60.54, Mike Wade third at 60.74. Aston Genesis won the Provet team competition by almost four and a half seconds, with a time of 185.24. The Park City Ski Team was second, Dynastar third. Linda Olsen was tops in the Vet females. Only three ladies raced. Tom Streit was the top old Vet man at 66.50. Second was Bob Logefeil at 67.89. Third was Bruce Morse. Mid Mountain Lodge won the Vet team title, hammering Cofer Chiropractic by 20 seconds. The next Town Race will be Feb. 22. Signup deadline is Feb. 21 at noon at the Park City Ski Area race department window.
