Show John B. Mair John B. "Chum" Mair, a former Park City mine employee, died Monday, Jan. 9 in a Heber City hospital. He was 79. He was born Nov. 19, 1904 in Heber to William Allen and Isabell Burt Mair. He married Nina Sessions on Nov. 25, 1933 in Heber, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mair worked for Park City Consolidated Mines and the New Park Mining Company. He was also employed at the Eimco Foundry (ten years without missing a day) and as a sheepherder. He is survived by his wife, Heber; children William Dale, Ogden; John Keith, Neola, Duchesne County; Mrs. Allen (Nina Kay) Ny, West Valley; brother Burt Mair, sisters Mrs. Mary Finnegan, Mrs. Afton Ingels, and Mrs. Phyllis Pinter, all of Heber; and sister Mrs. John (Lucille) McRay, Lyman, Wyoming; 14 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by brothers William A. and Floyd, and sisters Grace, Mrs. George (Blanche) Richardson, Richard-son, and Mrs. John (LeOra) Georgia. Funeral services are set for today at 1 p.m., at the Heber 8th Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the chapel one hour prior. Burial is in the Heber City Cemetery. Bill Sexton Elijah Wilborn "Bill" Sexton, who worked for 16 years as a carpenter at the New Park Mining Company, died Jan. 2 in a Heber City hospital. He was 78. Sexton was born April 6, 1905 in Lake Creek, Wasatch County to David and Rhoda Chandler Sexton. He married Emma La Von Meeks Perkins Nov. 25, 1935 in Heber City. In addition to his work for the mines, Sexton was best known in Park City as an orchestra leader and as the chancellor chan-cellor commander of the Knights of Pythias. He also worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Heber City and operated his own repair shop. Beside being a musician, Sexton also made musical instruments mandolins, guitars, violins and ukeleles. Sexton is survived by his wife, a resident of Midway, and by four children: Mrs. Billie J. (Ada) Mair, Midway; Mrs. Patrick (Frances) Pirraglio, Park City; Mrs. Larry Demar (Karla) WorkmaiuSaiLLakeatyj and Mrs. Bfilva-Tucker. Orem. He had 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. grand-children. He is also survived by one brother and four sisters. Funeral services were held Jan. 5 at Olpin Mortuary in Heber City. Burial was in the Heber City Cemetery. |
