Show Doug Ryan Found Dead at 45 te'-Ayc iff y .''. v m&k immmmmmmmvw ' $s$s. Popular Park City resident Doug Ryan was found dead in his Main St. apartment Monday morning of causes pending a determination from the State Medical Examiner. Ryan was 45. His body was discovered at approximately 10 a.m. Monday Mon-day by Doug Barton who is employed renovating the old B-Bar-G Leather shop into a bar that Ryan was going to run. The bar which is beneath Ryan's apartment was scheduled to open shortly. According to PCPD Chief Frank Bell, Ryan had been dead between 24 and 48 hours. Bell said a preliminary prelimi-nary autopsy report indicated indica-ted Ryan died - of natural causes but added he is waiting for a final report from the State Medical Examiner before releasing a precise cause of death. He said it is routine to request an autopsy in cases where death is unattended. Ryan had been a resident of Park City for many years during which time he was largely associated with the bar business. His stoic expression yet friendly manner man-ner greated at one time or another customers from behind be-hind practically every bar in Park City. He was known for Doug Ryan his sense of humor, genero-city genero-city and as a loyal friend. A lover of the indoors, Ryan was an accomplished pool player, had very good card sense and was fond of all spectator sports. Whenever he ran a bar there would always be a special event for the Kentucky Derby, World Series, Super Bowl, Masters' Tournament, etc. Before arriving in Park City more than ten years ago, Ryan was an executive with Crocker Citizens' Bank in San Francisco. In Park City he managed the Alamo Saloon, The Club, the Motherlode and was associated asso-ciated with Karen Degan in the main Street Express Co. He is survived by two sisters. Funeral services are pending. |
