Show death of sirs mrs howarth one of 0 the saddest deaths of 0 the year scar was that of mrs elva howarth beloved wife of mr john J how alth aith of this city which occurred monday afternoon the lady was in apparent robust health until a week ago last thursday at this time she was stricken with an attack of erysipelas physicians were summoned but despite their medical skill and ceaseless care of loved ones she got gradually worse until the end the death was indeed L crushing blow to the bereaved husband and family and the sin clorest sympathy and pity goes out to them in their irreparable loss and affliction by this sad death seven children are left motherless the oldest of whom Is but nineteen and the youngest only ten months it is indeed hard bard to realize why a happy lome home should thus be thrown into the darkest gloom by the sudden taking away of a devoted wife and loving mother whose gentleness and icae and kindly care is so needed in the rearing of the large family now left without the guiding hand he elevating influence the unselfish always inspiring love ot of mother alother perhaps some day well understand when lifes journey Is done and we follow our loved ones to the mysterious beyond why these heavy burdens of grief and bereavement are thrust upon us and now what seems cruel and unnecessary may bo be not only made understandable but even glorious in our new vision may he who governs our destinies give strength end and courage to the bereaved father to bear his burden manfully and to instill the love of 0 home into tile the hearts ot of his children and to keep alive the love and tle adoration of tile the mother who has bias been taken from them mrs howarth was a rood good woman it a devoted wile wife arid and mother and a devout christian she was a constent consistent s 1 member of the mormon I 1 I 1 hurch 1 and a prominent worker in tb the e relief society of that denomination her many good deeds and generous acts will long be remembered bared in this line of work she was born in nebraska forty years ago she came to utah with her parents when quite young who settled in heber she was married to mr howarth twenty two years ago their home has been in park city since that time besides her husband and seven children deceased leaves one sister mrs J R lindsay of provo who was in attendance at the funeral funeral services were held at the L D S church wednesday morning MOZ bishop W D lewis E j W robertson and E F robertson being the speakers who eulogized the life and work of the deceased A quartette rendered several appropriate selections the remains were taken to heber tor for interment but now she sleeps where the daisies nod and the clover hangs its head chere the wild birds come and the wild bees lium hum above her lonely bed she fought the tight fight she kept the faith her tame fame shines bright and clear and her memory lives in all our hearts which will hold it ever dear |
