Judge Kilby set bail at $104 for the $3.89 theft. injured and released Jenny Pinder was treated and released from a Salt Lake Hospital Feb. 25, for injuries she suffered in a head on collision with a vehicle driven by Terry Jannott. The crash occurred on Woodside Avenue's 200 block. liquor till short Carla Barrett, an employee at the Utah state liquor outlet at the Prospector Square reported her register was short more than $250 Feb. 25. Officers believe the money may have been taken by a person who dipped into the till behind Barrett's back between 2:45 and 7 p.m. jeep trick Nick Nass' familiar orange Jeep was reported stolen from its usual parking space in Swede Alley, near City Hall, Feb. 23. The vehicle was later recovered in Salt Lake and officers are searching for leads in the theft. mink moseys Anne Hersey's full length mink coat disappeared Feb. 19 from a couch at Mileti's Social Club on Main St. Hersey told officers she left the brown fur on her seat while she chatted with friends at the bar. When she returned it was gone. condo theft Huntington Beach resident Mark Lennon who is staying in a condo on. Deer Valley Road reported the theft of a stereo cassette player from his unit. Feb. 28. He told officers his condo had been entered several times during his stay without his permission. On Feb. 21, books and bookends were placed in his bathroom by a person claiming to be an interior decorator and earlier on Feb. 28 someone mysteriously fixed the hot tub. Other valuables were left untouched in Lennon's unit. change missing Between $160 and $180 was reported taken from a coke machine at Prospector Athletic' Club Feb. 25. The theft was reported by Club Manager Jeanine Carofanello who said the machine had been apparently left unlocked by an employee who counted its contents earlier in the day. Carofanello told officers she was alerted to the theft by a young girl who reported "money was just dropping in the machine and no coke was coming out. skis stolen Three pair of skis and boots owned by Gerry Weber and two friends were taken from his car Feb. 25. The vehicle was parked in Swede Alley when the theft occurred. glove suspect sought A male suspect in a blue pickup is being sought in connection with the theft of a pair of $13.49 work gloves from 7-Eleven this week. purloined purse Diane Ballinger of Portland, Conn, reported her purse was stolen at the Rusty Nail Feb. 26. The bag contained a wallet valued at $20, four cross pens worth $80, two pocket knives worth $40, an airline ticket and $130 in cash. club, safe cracked An undisclosed amount of cash turned up missing Monday morning from the safe at The Club on Main St. Officers suspect either the safe was cracked by skilled burglars or it was opened by someone privy to the combination. The police believe at this point the latter may be the case and are . moving ahead with interviews with employees. toast burned A woman was cited for leaving the scene of an accident after plowing into band equipment owned by Boy Toast, the current act at the Black Pearl. The band evidently had piled their equipment in Swede Alley before loading it into their vehicle following their performance Saturday night. The girl came down the road, smashed into the equipment and continued on, causing an undertermined amount of damage. She was later apprehended and cited. |
