Show ssljOALFflON Wednesday, September 25, 1974 19 Page Alpine Team to Train In Europe The U.S. Alpine Ski Team will depart for Europe on September 25th for a month-lon- g training session. The training will be and Val Thorens, France. Staff members who will be making the journey are Hank Tauber, Hanspeter Rohr, Harald Schonhaar, Lane Monroe, and Svlvain Dao-LenMembers of the men's team going are Cary Adgate, Karl Anderson, Ron Biederman, Geoff Bruce, Dave Currier, Mike Dorris, Greg Jones, Steve Mahre, Andy Mill, Billy Taylor, and Richie Woodworth. Representatives from the girls team include Lindy Cochran, Ab-bi- e Fisher, Lyndall Heyer, Jamie Kurlander, Leith Lende, Kim Mumford, Cindy Nelson, Susie Patters mi, Sandy Poulsen, Leslie Smith, and Debbie Tarinelii. geared predominantly toward slalom and giant slalom. Free skiing and physical a. fitness training will be arranged on an individual basis depending on the amount of skiing each team member has had during the summer and cai each skiers progress. Reports indicate that the snow conditions on the European glaciers are very good this year. Team officials are anticipating a very beneficial continuation of the training program. The ski areas to be visited include Kaprun, Austria; Tigne, France; Utah Ski Research and Testing Sight Snowbird Resort has been named the official Utah Research and Testing Center by The Ski Company for its product' The Ski according to Bob Burns, President of the Odgen, Utah, based ski manufacturer. Snowbird was selected for ski testing because of its mix of both terrain and snow conditions over a long sea sot.
