Show bum THfei Wednesday, June 12, 1374 MRK CITY Page 2 WE ENJOYED IT Planning Commission Decisions ITS THEIR GAME Last Saturday, the Mother Lode Restaurant held a Donation Day for the Park City Little League. They offered the net proceeds of their beverage sales to the Little League. It was a good business day and the donation will be added to the many others already received by the League. This is the beginning of a Park City Little League and an ideal time to examine the purpose of its character. Little League baseball is what the name implies an organized league for young boys andor girls. The opportunity to have such a League for our children is noteworthy. It is their game and their time to learn. The wealth of experiences which youngsters are exposed to by participation in a little league is formidable. - The pure simple fun of participation - both team and individual playing under the rules, accepting the winning and losing glimpes of the amount of effort it takes to become good at something, relationships with coaches. These plus many others are beams in the structure of little league baseball . People who have seen a big time little league game more than likely could have observed two games occurring simultaneously. The leaguers are playing the game on the field. Over zealous parents and fans along with irate coaches are playing another game on the sidelines. The game on the field involves baseball, the game on the sidelines involves egos. Conversely, there are many little leagues where the principle of it is their game is held in high esteem. The Park City Little League has begun this way and will hopefully continue. The Park City Planning Commission met on Wednesday, June 5th, and approved the plans for one condominium project and rejected anothers. Final approval fra the Claim-jump- er II condominiums was granted with two stipulations. A question arose as to the presence of an access road leading into the project. At the present time, no such road exists, but the Resort has plans for construction of a road which would provide entry to Claimjumper II. The Commission stated that a letter showing intent to build the road would have to be submitted as a condition to final approval. Also, a written guarantee of landscaping was required. This final approval allows the Claimjumper II to apply for a building permit. Destination Resorts Con- dominiums were denied approval for a conditional use permit. Reasons for refusal were given as inadequate setback from Silver King Drive and unacceptable landscaping. It was suggested that if the project was moved back an additional five feet from the road, WOODSY OWL HOOTS: Shhhhhhh fans, parents, coaches and umpires, it seems our responsibility to be aware of the experiences the little league players are gaining. Indeed we are all part of those experiences. Lets recognize the value of our little league and enjoy it. Many of our townspeople have and their efforts toward the Park City Little League are congratulated. Our League plays on Monday evenings at 5: 30 and 6: 30. So if you want to cheer, enjoy or even reminisce, come down to the City Park and see a little league baseball the builders could probably overcome both objections. The Planning Commission approved the granting of a business license to Mr. Ted Armengol. Mr. Armengol intends to open a real estate office at 627 Park Avenue, the site previously occupied by the Summit Engineering Company. The real estate business will be handling the sale of the Clocktower Condominiums. Mr. Michael Kovach was given approval to apply for a business license for Park City Reservations, which will be a property THE PARK CITY COALITION Park City, Utah Dear Sirs: We bought a copy of your newspaper at Summit Park this morning and, since we have been considering doing some advertising in the Park City area about our restaurant, we thought that your paper might be the media we would use. While on the subject of business licenses, the Commission decided to investigate the need for licenses for businesses which sell and deliver in Park City but which have no offices here.
