Show id Wednesday, August 7, 1974 Ml Page 19 SOFTBALL Poor Week for ISWM Local Talent mens softball season ended last week as the The PCAs won one and lost two and Wolfes-Clu- b lost all three of their encounters. On Monday night the PCAs lost by one run to Mana. An unearned run proved the difference as Mana scored two runs in the seventh inning for a 8 victory. Tuesday evening MacDonalds soundly defeated the PCAs ll The PCAs then ended their season by edging on Thursday evening Wolfes-Clu- b was defeated Monday evening by Uinta 10-Lumber In a very close game, W-- lost 6 to 9-- 8-- 2. Men-deha- 4--3. 8-- C 5. Jor-danel- le on Tuesday evening. The seventh inning proved the difference in this game. Again on Thursday, B & W barely squeezed by W-- C 7 in another seventh inning 8-- rally. The PCAs ended the season with a six won, ten lost record as they won five of their last eight games. Wolfes-Clu- b ended the season four won and eleven lost. The highlights of the season for each team still remain their games with each other. Good people and good softball being the reasons ! As was agreed upon at the first of the season, the winner of these games, which was the PCAs, will now an all expense paid one month receive from Wolfes-Cluvacation to Columbia, South America. The PCAs appreciate the fact that the players from W-had the confidence to place such a wager at the inception of the season and humbly express our thanks. How about APYW camp?! the Summit South Stake of the Church During August 6th-9tof Jesus Christ of Latter-Da- y Saints will hold it yearly camp in the mountains above Kamas Valley. There will be 7 girls from the Park City Ward, with Paula Kaye Roach as their director. Hie 12 girls from the Snyderville Ward will be led by DeAnn Mohns. The theme of the camp is Circus, Circus. Each ward in the stake is to represent an act in a circus. There will be monkeys, bears, elephants, lions, horses, trapeze artists, and the side show's. circus Some of the activities will be a midnight hike, a three-rin- g where each ward will act out thejiart of the circus it represents, several hikes, a testimony meeting, and a chance to meet. the secret surprise celebrity whomever it may be. The camp isnt all for fun each girl must fulfill certain requirements. Each must cook and eat her own food in 4 different ways such as baking, cooking on a stick, frying on a rock, or cooking in the ashes. The difficulty of the requirements depends on how many years the girl has attended the camp. The girls need to know first aid, conservation, fire safety, and how to build a fire without a match. On the last day of the camp, each girl will take a written test on what she has learned at camp. The girls will arrive home on Friday afternoon. August 9lh.
