Chesler Continued from Page 9 school years differently. "As a sophomore, I wasn't scared but I don't think I was physically ready," the recently -graduated senior said. "I was small and got pushed around a little bit, but by the end of the year I had gained confidence by playing with the bigger kids. "My junior year was probably prob-ably the best time. I felt it was my strongest year and I was full of confidence. I knew I could rely on my defense de-fense arid fiyrieam knew it could irttjrtM file. "As a seTjJsjrjl needed td, be more of etm leader. I We were younf this year . and had placers from a lot of different clubs, but we became be-came best friends. We came together as a team and from Day 1 we wanted that state championship," The Bruins couldn't get past Bountiful to reach that final pinnacle, something Chesler says still stings. "If you told me at the beginning be-ginning of the year that we would make it back to the state finals for the second year in row, I would've been happy," he explained. "It's a huge accomplishment and not something that we've done at Mountain View. "But I'm never happy with a loss. I'm going on to play college soccer but I really would've liked to have gotten got-ten that win for the seniors that probably won't play again." That attitude reflects the character of Chtslei, accord-" ing to his coach: Driven and , team-oriented, "He's the type that wants to be pushed," Graham said. "H e'd train for 30 minutes to an hour during every practice and it was every bit . as intense as with the field players. Chesler loved that meaningful training. "He's also a natural leader. If he puts together a company, compa-ny, it will be well-organized. "it's a good school and the people are amazing," he said. "It's a program that hopefully hope-fully will be on the rise. But I'm going to go in with a lot .expected of me, so it's excit- .
