Show Volume V, Issue XII THE OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Page 13 April 1, 2002 More than Just Managing Money By Chris Wright Paying for expert advice on financial matters can be a worthwhile expense. Working with a financial professional may be one of the best financial decisions you make. One common misconception is that a financial professional can only help you with your investments. The reality is that financial professionals can assist clients with all aspects of their financial lives. Together, you and your financial professional can identify your financial goals and design a budget, if appropriate. Want to get the most out of working with a financial professional? Here are five tips that will help: 1. Share all your financial data. 2. Trust that your financial professional understands and cares about your future and financial well-being. 3. Be willing to implement recommendations. 4. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, no matter how simple the topic. 5. Arrange to meet at least once a year to review your finances, such as your net worth, asset allocation, and insurance coverage. Note: Chris Wright is a Financial Planner with Heritage Financial Group, 3995409, www.heritagefinancialgroup.com Utah’s Spring Run-Off Utah’s Spring Run Off, Ogden City and Ogden Valley’s Next International Event: Requests for registration information on the Ogden Marathon have been coming in from Europe, South America, and even Nigeria. The first registration came from John Kirkland of Portland, Oregon. Since that date in late 2001, Ogden Marathon registrations have come in from all of the United States, Canada and even one from Austria. Last year’s event hosted over 1000 runners. Our projections state that we should double that number for 2002. Road Closures and What to Expect: In an effort to avoid any major traffic concerns, the Marathon Committee has scheduled the start of each event a half hour earlier than in 2001. The Committee has also made efforts to communicate the intended time schedule with local clubs, business associations, and the general public. Please watch local listing for updates. Hwy 39 east of Huntsville will be closed to eastbound traffic at 6:10 a.m., and will re-open as quickly as possible with an estimated time of 7:45 a.m. Hwy 166 between Huntsville and Eden will be affected from 7:00 a.m.–9:00 am. Hwy 162 from Eden through Hwy 39 in Ogden Canyon will be affected from 7:30 a.m.–11:45 a.m. Please make plans to avoid driving in these areas on May 4 during the times listed. However, we would like to invite all of the community to come and watch runners from all over the world, and from your own back yard as they push their bodies and minds to complete the 26.2 mile course. The 2nd Annual Ogden Marathon, Utah’s Spring Run Off, Saturday May 4th, 2002 The word is out and runners from all over the United States are on their way to “Utah’s Spring Run Off,” The Ogden Marathon.
