This year they are oe in Global Youth Service Day (G These students are hosting a local rend Walkathon, a project proposed and developed by exchange students from all over the world. The students liked the idea of helping their brothers and sisters in need after the terrible Tsunami in Asia. They are trying to find volunteers who will pledge to walk for donations. This — will take place on April 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the mountain trail above St Toseph’s Catholic High School in Ogden. This trail opens to a great view of Ogden City and will hopefully attract many who would like to help raise funds for the victims of the Asian Tsunami. The students state, “There are times in the history of humanity when our brothers and sisters need help. Our event is to show our courtesy and respect for those who suffered from the hands of nature.” Come join in the fun—walk with a new international friend while enjoying ee mountain scenery on Ogden’s east bench. shirts and snacks for every walker, ‘ta prizes for top performers. The event will begin at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School located at 1790 Lake St., Ogden. Take Harrison Blvd to 25th street, turn east toward the mountains, then turn right on Filmore and take the next street left on Lake Street. St. Joseph’s is the last building on the left. If it rains, wear your sneakers—the walk will take place in the school gymnasium! and cash will be donated to the American Red Cross, which will then pass the money directly on to the Tsunami Registration for AYSO Soccer for 2005 — 2006 Season Underway O Region 422 Ogden Valley, which includes soccer players from Eden, Liberty, Huntsville, and Ogden Canyon, has announced open registration for the new 2005 -2006 soccer season. Two early bird sign-up dates have been set: Thursday, April 28 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Huntsville Utah LDS Stake Center located at 6450 E. 1900 N. in Eden. The early bird price is $40 per player. The fee for registration after April 30 is $50. The registration fee covers the 2005 fall and 2006 spring season and a new uniform that will be distributed by coaches in this fall. Children born on or after August 1, 1999 are eligible to register.
