The important factor is that the individual has some form of training. In fact many life coaches are trained in many techniques, this gives them more tools in their toolbox to share with their clients. Of equal importance is finding a coach that you are comfortable with. A coach should create a space that you feel safe to discuss any and all topics that keep you from moving forward in your life. If you do not feel safe or comfortable with the person you see, you will not receive the full benefit of their services, and it is best to seek another coach. Many coaches offer a free short session, so the client and coach can determine if they are a good fit to work ‘ther. ether. Finally, coaches are clear, objective thinkers. When you are in the middle of a challenge, you often cannot see obvious alternatives and options because of your ingrained patterns of thinking (often put in place early in our lives and very much out dated). A coach can see challenges from a different perspective, and will break the problem down so you address a little bit at a time. The small moves forward can change the way you perceive yourself and the world, and ultimately result in permanent, positive changes. Now remember success is a team effort. A coach cannot “fix” challenges. A coach and client problem solve together. When working with a life coach expect homework and accountability. Be ready to do your work on all levels physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. A life coach will provide the tools to succeed, but you have to apply them If you are ready to take control of your life, to grow past the barriers, beliefs and habits that keep you from moving forward...Then a life coach will help you get to where you want to be and create the life you want to live.
