The feedback generated from the survey has helped to shape the draft Recreation Element of the Ogden Valley General Plan. The plan discusses how the quality of life currently enjoyed in the Ogden Valley region attracts many second home buyers, and creates demand for new resort development in this recreational setting. Additional ideas of how the Valley’s unique qualities might be preserved while accommodating growth and economic development are important to the success of this planning effort. With your continued input, a better plan will be created hat protects the short term and long term value of the valley’s unique setting. Hwy 162 Eden, Utah Valley Residents Encouraged to Attend Disaster Preparedness Event A community wide Disaster Preparedness Night has been planned for Friday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Snowcrest Jr. High in Eden. Presentations will be made by the Ogden Chapter of the Red Cross, CERT, the Weber County Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, a t Earthquake Preparedness expert, a specialist in emergency communications, and a speialist in medical emergency response. Huntsville Mayor Jim McKay will provide the opening remarks for the evening. This Disaster Preparedness Night is being offered free of charge to all residents of Ogden Valley and Ogden Canyon. In order to encourage community participation, organizers are seeking door prizes and donations. Door priz can either be commodities from your bist or a monetary donation. Any monetary donation will be used for purchase of emergency supplies to be used as door prizes in the name of the donor and to offset printing costs related to the meeting. Third Annual Fly with the Flock 5K Fun Run/Walk at Ogden Nature Center A running success—three yeas and counting! Ogden Nature Center welcome all ages to participate in the Third Annual Fly with the Flock Fun Run on May 14, 2005. Enjoy the beauty of the wildlife sanctuary while competing in a fun 5K run/walk on dirt trails. Starting time is 8:00 a.m. Registration on My 14 is from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Registration fees are $22 for adults and $15 for children; pre-register before May | at reduced rates ($18 adults/$12 kids). Tshirts and goody bags are guaranteed to those who pre-register.
