Show Volume XIII THE Issue V OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Page 17 December 15, 2005 Please Help Us Help You! By Jim Truett, Huntsville Town Council 4. Y It’s that time of year again when the snow falls and we try to stay warm. It’s also the time when road crews are working to keep all the roadways clear of snow and ice so we can all be safe when we have to travel. Following are some of the ways you can help road crews maintain our roads during winter weather. 1. Pull back your garbage containers from the roadways so the snow being pushed off the roadway doesn’t disturb or knock them down. Please keep abandoned vehicles clear of the roadway, and, if at all possible, please park in driveways. This allows us to not box your vehicle in, and 3. Recreational Trails Open in North Fork Park allows crews to keep from pushing snow into the roadway. If you have a mailbox that is not secured and is pushed out close to the road, please pull it back just off the roadway. This will help keep it from accidentally being bumped. Please do not throw snow back into the road, this will create an ice patch on the roadway where vehicles could slide. It can also dainage snowplow blades. When the snowplow comes through, we all know what happens to . This is what we have Trail grooming is officially underway in orth Fork Park for winter recreationists. One lane of classic track and a 12 foot skating lane have been set along the main road, up Cold Water Canyon, up the Cutler Ridge Road, down to the North Gate, and up the Cutler Flat Road. Other areas will be groomed as more snow arrives. As temperatures remain below freezing, head up to the hills to enjoy the great snow conditions! Trails will continue to be groomed as long as snow conditions allow. Buy your season passes or donate regularly. Donation boxes are available at the south gate of North Fork Park, and one will shortly be installed at the north gate Mail $50.00 season pass requests to: OGDEN NORDIC PO BOX 643 EDEN UTAH 84310 Make checks payable to Ogden Nordic. He wanted to bring the feel of the night sky indoors so that his family could enjoy it. He decided to put lighted candles on the family’s Christmas tree Unfortunately, lighting candles on the tree was a fire hazard. People often kept buckets of water nearby in case the tree caught fire.
