He spoke in the Eden II Ward on December 11. | Obituaries John Arthur Farnsworth, Jr. . Farnsworth of Racine, Utah, 81 years, passed awa Las Vegas, Nevada of natural causes. e was born on July 1924 in Salt Lake John Farnsworth City, Utah to John A. nsworth and Lovina Earl. He was a graduate of Granite High School in Salt Lake City. He served in the Army during World War II, landing at Normandy Beach on “D” day, and then preceded through the Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. He married Geraldine (Jerrie) Jackson in September 1947. The marriage was later solem nized in the Los Angeles Temple. She survives tina as an active member of the LDS church and held the priesthood in good aie He worked for Young Electric Sign Comp: for 38 years in Las Vegas, Ogden, and Salt Take . a foreman. John enjoyed golf and lapidary and was active in gem clubs in both Utah and Las Vegas. He loved spending time with his extensive family. was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard, and a grandson—Little Michael. He is survived by his seven children: Susan (Stephen) Burton, Las Vegas; Christine (Michael) Jones, Phoenix; Gloria Vallette, Farmington; John A. Farnsworth III (Jack), fiancée (Sherry), Ogden; Clara (Russ) Hickam, West Valley City; Brenda (Wayne) Hadley, Huntsville; and Preston (Dawn) Farnsworth), Las Vegas. She was raised in Ogden and attended Weber High School. She worked many years for the IRS and later had to go on disability. She married Lee Howe and Charles Weatherston then later divorced. She then met Mike Pribble and was married November 1976 then later divorced on good terms in August of 1996; they remained good friends. She then found her soul mate—Larry Thomas, whom was by her side during | i: d bad times. She loved hi d his family as her own. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. She had a big heart and always tried to help others. Van De Graaff Kent Marshall Van De Graaff, Ph.D., passed away in Providence, Utah on day, December 7, 2005 after a recent diagnosis of cancer and without undue suffering. . He was a beloved professor to thousands of students over his three-decade career and many current health care professionals regard him as a profound eal tere in their lives.
