Obituaries Clyde William Ferrin – Our beloved father and grandfather passed away Sunday June 11, 1999 of causes incident to age. He was born December 16, 1907 in Liberty, Utah, the son of Arthur M. and Janet A. Lindsay Ferrin. He attended Ogden High School and graduated from Weber County High School. Throughout his youth and early adult years, he played many sports including basketball and baseball, where he was known as a fierce competitor. On June 6, 1940 he married Doris Joy Stalling in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died on January 24, 1997. Growing up on the farm, he learned at a young age to work. Working was not only his job, but also his avocation, which he pursued with enthusiasm until the infinities of age, well past 75 years, restricted the body. He and his brother farmed in Huntsville until 1945 when he purchased the Ogden Alfalfa Mill, which he operated until 1959. At that time he began working for Ogden City Schools as a custodian. Without words Daddy taught us that it matters not what your employment is but it matters a great deal how you do your work. He was recognized for both the quality and quantity of his work. Required to retire at age 65, he was restless and obtained employment as custodian of the Ogden 41st Ward from which he retired at age 75. He then spent two or three days a week attending the Ogden Temple and filling the rest of his time with home projects and helping his family. Honesty was a hallmark of his dealings with others and his family. Always, he has been a loving, kind and thoughtful husband and father. Our friends were his friends. He had a deep love for and unwavering faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. He served in the LDS Church as a missionary to the Eastern Canadian Mission (including the New England States), and as Young Men’s President, Sunday School teacher and president, counselor in a bishopric for nearly 13 years, and as a faithful home teacher. He is survived by one brother, David A. Ferrin; his children, Marsha, Linda (Lyle) Wheelwright, Mark, and Lee (Kathy); and eight grandchildren, Ashley, David, Tara, Tricia, Jeff, Shane, Lisa and Derek; nine greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sisters, Ada Lofgren and Marie Crandall, and brothers, Leonard, John, George, and Donal. We wish to express our thanks for the loving care rendered to Daddy by his caregivers at Apple Village the last six months and at the Beehive Home in Layton the previous six months. Internment, Eden Cemetery. Beulah Elizabeth Stallings Thompson-Beulah Elizabeth Stallings Thompson, “Great”, 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Eden, Utah, on July 15,1999. She was born October 2, 1903, in Eden, Utah, to Nancy Ritter and Hyrum B. Stallings, the second eldest of seven children. Attending Eden and Liberty schools, she graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1924, and continued her education, graduating from Weber College in 1926. She had been a schoolteacher in Weber County School District for many years. She served on the Jury Commission and worked a number of years as an Election Judge for Weber County. She was also very active in the Democratic Party. Beulah was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving many positions in the Eden Ward and was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. On July 3,1933, she married Earl Erwin Thompson in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Through this marriage, she became the stepmother to five children, Marlin Berkley, Daniel Wells, Don Jay, Iris Aleida, and Verle Deo, all preceding her in death. Her life was rich with her insatiable quest for knowledge, which she shared with all that knew her. Her endless stories of life and experiences in Ogden Valley are cherished by all. “Thank you, “Great”, for your precious gift, a gift of love certainly, but the value goes beyond gratitude. It’s a chance rare enough in life to be needed and wanted. We love and miss you dearly” – Your CareGivers. She was the “Last Leaf Upon the Tree”, preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, husband, and children. She is survived by 13 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 80 great great grandchildren; and one great-greatgreat-grandchild. Internment, Eden Meadow View Cemetery.
