Notice is hereby 'given that a special spe-cial meeting of the stockholders of The Davis and Weber ountics Canal Company will be held at the Court Room of Judgo Howell's Division of the District Court In the Court House In Ogden Ity, Weber ounty, Utah, on Saturday, tho Gth day of July, 1912, at ten o'clock A. M., with the object and for the purpose ot considering and acting act-ing upon: (FIRST) A proposed amendment to article fith of the articles of incorporation in-corporation of said company so that said article will read substantially as follows, to-wlt: "ARTICLE FIFTH. The business of this corporation shall be to appropriate appro-priate or acquire, by purchase or otherwise, oth-erwise, own, hold, use, buy, sell, lease and dispose of water and water rights for Irrigation, power, manufacturing, mining and domestic purposes and uses and for any and all other pur-poses pur-poses and uses for which water may be appropriated and used, whether similar to the nurposee and u&cg herein here-in enumerated or not, to construct, acquire, by purchase or otherwise, and to own, hold, control, 'maintain and operato canals, water ditches, flumes, pipo lines, reservoirs, dams, and all other means or appliances which, in the opinion of tho board of directors, may bo necessary, convenient or appropriate ap-propriate for the diversion, otorage, conveyance and use of water and tho uso and enjoyment of its water rights and the prosecution of the business of the corporation, also to construct or acquire, by purchase, lease or otherwise, oth-erwise, ar.'l to own, hold, control, leaBC, maintain and oporate a power plant or power plants for the generation of electricity and electrical energy for uso by it for manufacturing, milling, power, lighting or other purposes and for sale, or exchange, together with such transmission line or lines and all such other structures, moans and appliances as tho board of directors may, from time to time, deem necessary, neces-sary, proper or couen!ent for tho prposc of carrying on tho business herein provided for or 'for the promotion promo-tion of the business interests of the corporation; also to buy, soil and exchange ex-change electrical power or energy for any and all purposes whatever. (SECOND) For tho purpose of considering con-sidering and ac :ng upon a proposed amendment to said articles of incorporation incor-poration by adding thereto a new article ar-ticle to read as follows - "ARTICLE : Notice of special meetings of the stockholders may bo given by mailing a written or printed notice thereof to each stockholder addressed ad-dressed to him or her at his or her postofflce address as appears on the books of tlie corporation, or if such address does not appear on such books, then at the postoffice of tho principal place of business of the corporation, cor-poration, not lesB than one week nor more than two weeks before the time for holding such meeting."
