BREWER, President o o ' O O O'O oooooooo oo oooooooooooo With but one exception all offlceis of the Weber club who served during tho past year wore re-elected at the annual meeting which was held last evening. The meeting was the first general session which has been held at the new clubrooms on Grant avenue aven-ue and it proved to bo an enthusiastic enthusias-tic ono, thore belns a larger per cent of tho members present than at any mooting in tho history of tho club. The annual election was tho principal prin-cipal business before the meeting. President A- L. Brewer waB renominated renom-inated for tho office which he has held for tho past year but refused to bo a candidate for the second term, stating stat-ing that he npproclatod tho honor shown In the desire that ho make a second race but proforrod that the honor bo passed around to tho other members of the organization. Dr. Rowe tor President. Dr. H M Ilowe, a retiring mem ber of the board of directors, was nominated for tho ofllce of president land unanimously elected. All the other officers were re-elected as follows; fol-lows; Vice President, F M Drlggs; Secretary, I. L Reynolds; Treasurer, R. A Moyes. Mr Brewer was unanimously unani-mously chosen to tnko Dr Rowes' place on the board and the other two retiring members, T. H. Carr and E W Matson, were re-elected. Although the proposition was discussed dis-cussed at some length, no definite action was taken regarding the revision revi-sion of tho by-laws to conform with the proposed now methods of nominating nom-inating committee bo selected and this committee chose at least two candidates for every office to bo filled The names of the candidates thus chosen wore to bo posted two weks previous "to the dnto of tho election. It was also stipulated that any five members of tho club might place In nomination a candidate for any or all offices. The proposition as' submitted at last night's meeting did not meet with the approval of a majority and It was docided to Jay tho matter on the table until some special meeting. A committee com-mittee was selected to re-draft the proposed amendment to the by-laws. It is very probable that tho new method of securing candidates and officers will bo In effect at the next annual election. Invitation to the Elks. The above invitation to the menir bers of Ogdon Lodge No. 719; B. P 0 Elks, to attend a reception and smoker at tho Weber club's new homo next Friday night was passed upon and unanimously Indorsed by the members of the business men's organization. or-ganization. Reynolds submitted his sixteenth annual report, but owing ow-ing to the fact that all of his hooka were destroyed In tho Ecclcs fire he was only able to present a balance sheet and list of members Tho report re-port shows that the club possesses real estate valued at $13,312 00, and that the cost of remodelling tho Grant avenue building, together with a large proportion of tho fixtures was SS.019 -95 In addition to these expenditures the cub has contracted for additional fixtures to the amount of $2,703 20. Club Membership 300. The present membership of the club consists of 261 resident members mem-bers and 40 non-resident members. At the conclusion of tho business session last evening there was a buffet buf-fet "luncheon and smoker |
